I've already seen this a while ago as well and this is a setup kit. Everything else must be fabricated I.E; piping, intercooler, flanges, etc. This isn't your typical bolt on turbo kit like all the other ones on the market. Japan does have a complete single kit but it's not for the U.S market.

Ok, but HKS still offers a turbo kit to the US. It may not be the most complete, but they do offer one.

At this point it is semantics, whether that HKS turbo kit is a "kit" or not.

I would say no, since its basically a pair of manifolds and turbos. But what does this have to do with the GT supercharger?

Back on topic; the people demand numbers - both price and performance. Will the new HKS supercharger be able to compete with the Vortech?

The answer is yes.
HKS's shop car is running just over 450whp with this kit, but with an uprated pulley, HKS F-Con V-pro, exhaust, and a few other bits.

Out of the box it will only produce about an extra 50 ponies, but i've been informed by reliable sources, that this is only to keep it CARB legal on a VERY safe and conservative tune. With upgraded injectors, exhaust, and a good tune from an HKS certified tuner, i've been assured that 340-350 whp is achievable with the base kit.

i actually got a chance to tune the one at HKS when i went out to LA when i was checking out the FCon VPro. it was putting down 450 ish with a smaller pulley. the SC kit sounds great!!

i received a letter from HKS saying that this GT Supercharger kit will only be available at your local Pro Dealer to have it installed. i am pretty sure it is coming with an FCon IS and will be priced VERY very well. i was actually surprised when i heard the price on it.

if anyone is interested in the SouthEast region, give us a call...

So, i won't be able to buy it online and have it shipped to Europe. That's crap! I certainly hope that's not the case. I can understand that HKS want's to retain there warranty, but i don't care, as i will be upgrading it anyway!

Yes, there is, but where you guys will probably end up paying $5600 or a bit more, i would have to pay close to $9000. So i would much rather get it in the US and pay for shipping.
Europe is a rip-off when it comes to car customization.

True, but you're a baller just by virtue of the fact that you live in Monaco.

hmmm I a lil confused. So the only kit that has been carb approved is the complete kit for non-revup engines. These kits will be ready for sale shortly?

But for us revups, the carb process is still pending/or has not even begun yet and release for complete kits for revups will be much much longer?

I guess 1st quarter 2008 will not happen

Why would this supercharger be safer than running a single turbo (ie, turbonetics, powerlab) @ ~ 380whp?
Safer, as in running them on everything stock - stock block, etc. Maybe just swap out for a better clutch.

Yup, Katsu said their in-house car with VPro, cams, etc is pushing down about 450WHP but there are limitations with this supercharger as Rick told me yesterday. The compressor housing will max out the amount of air flow so 450WHP or so sounds like the limit of this blower but Rick was also saying that they may be designing a different supercharger unit to be sold as a tuner kit that is capable of pushing more power than the current counterpart but this is still up in the air. The current unit will come with a pre-tuned FCon IS but it will not have to be installed by a Pro Dealer. The end-user will HAVE to purchase it from a Pro Dealer though as these kits will not be available for re-sale from an HKS dealer.

Don't worry, you should be able to purchase it online once it is released.
