One of the things that I have wanted to do ever since I switched to FCon was get rid of the Mass Air Flow housing completely on my Greddy kit. The FCon does not use the signal from the airflow meter at all, it is just there to connect the piping together. This really cleans up the engine bay, and does remove a significant restriction out of the intake tract.
I ordered a 3" allum U-bend, a 2.75"-3" coupler, and a new BOV flange and got to work....
Copying the existing pipe was not to difficult, but there are a few things to take note of if you are going to try this yourself. The 3" tubing is not the same size as the Greddy piping. The Greddy is 80mm and I could not find anywhere that sold metric tubing diameters. So to get around this, I hacked up the MAF adapter and welded that to the new pipe. I moved the BOV into the engine bay, up from the fender well... mostly for looks, but now I can adjust it with out getting in the fender well to do it. There was not enough room to put a bead roll on the other end of the pipe, so we just welded a hump on the very edge of it to prevent the coupler from popping off.
I think it turned out pretty well! Took about 6 hours start to finish, but well worth it IMHO.

i drove around without mine plugged in for a while, i dont remember anything happening. the fcon has a voltage output that is emulating the MAF the entire time anyway. even if you leave your MAF in there, its signal is not used for anything.. its already been bypassed.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that the 70mm outlet from the intercooler is close enough in size that the 2.75"-3" transition is a nice snug fit on the Greddy piping right there.

Yeah! Why dont you make a nice polished pipe like yours.. You cheap skate!
Call me when you get a chance.A little off topic, but Phunk your pumps have close to 3K on my car and some dyno, and street spirited runs and no problems!
I had Sharif do the same mod on my car (PE kit) - we found a new home for my latest mod where the stock MAF used to be - new MAF delete pipe is currently out for powder coating, then back onto the dyno...

Can't wait for our rematch, this time I'll be running the slicks/skinnies and not street tires

Im pulling my Maf also, the nice thing on the APS kit is that it is one solid pipe. All we need to do is plug the hole.
Thats pretty sweet that the Fcon gets rid of the MAF altogether. that stupid platsic piece breaks up the smooth lines of polished tubes
