imho, if you stick with a 3.12 pulley you'll be fine. i pushed the setup with a 2.87 boosting 12+psi on stock block.

Well that helps ... I thought you were running a conservative tune ? This thread was made in an attempt to put to rest some of the fears first time F/I owner would have and establish a baseline of necessity out of the shop.

+1.....i ran 2 summers at 12psi with my procharger and then boosted another summer with a turbnetics st kit....stay less than 10psi and u will be fine no prob...

as for baseline...make sure u tell your tuner i was a "safe" tune so i can beat the $hit out of it at the track or when i want....there r a lot of guys runnin 50k on stock block f1....some of us fall to tha i want more POWA state...motor no likey....

turbos are worse than superchargers. im one of the few who have blown a engine with a supercharger.

I read some were that you are just pushing around 380whp, am I right? Then if you are pushing 12psi then that is very low WHP for that boost. Can you clear things up pls. 380whp should be safe but 12psi is kinda high for stock block.

test pipes, md 5/16th, evo TT, stock headers and cams. we hit 391 on one run and the tuner said she had 400whp+ in her but asked me for what i wanted. i asked for a safe tune. we settled on a final dyno of 380~390. im not a dyno queen so i could stated 391 or 400+. just wanna be honest as possible.

dyno's very, ive seen people back up 400whp with a 3.12 pulley with stock headers and cams.. you really believe it though? i bet i would have been well into the 400's on Church's dyno.

Still at 12 psi you should be well above 380whp even on a mustang dyno.

yeah I dunno, dynos vary so much it seems. Maybe it wasn't STD or SAE corrected or wasn't calibrated right

I was hitting 420whp on a dyno-dynamics when I had my fuel pressure issues and prior to water injection tuning

Gotta also take into consideration the timing aspect of 'safe' and not just the a/f ratio. Some tuners might tune till knock then back off 1* others might back off 2-4*. As with all forms of FI, the motor can let go; there is just too much going on (a/f, timing, weather changes, etc...) My opinion is if you have the chance to go FI, you love the Z/want to keep it for a while (because FI has a huge cost outlay), and want more power, FI is the logical step...at least thats how Im justifying my FI bill
