Default Vortech with Utec problem

Having a hard time figuring out a problem with my Z. I hooked up my laptop to my utec and took it for a spin. I have had problems with it running strong then studering and even dying. I captured some interesting info if you look close at the highlighted info you will see the numbers are off the chart compared to when its running well. I'm not sure if this is a utec problem, or a throttle sensor or what but if anyone has some advice I'm all ear thanks.

Any TPS codes? I am leaning towards a faulty UTEC.
Do you have your Molex connector plugged in, and the black wire grounded?

No I've had no codes, and yes I've grounded the black wire. Not sure what you mean by molex connector but everything ran good for a quite a while. But it is getting worse. I don't understand the MAP how could it go from -11 to +34 a second latter. Think the map sensor could be a problem? But I am leaning to the UTEC also.

With both TPS and MAP signals going epileptic on you....now my vote is even stronger....time for another UTEC/send it in for repairs and provide from those data logs to TXS.

The UTEC has been very very reliable and stable, but a defect can happen from time to time.

Talked with Jermaine at Turbo XS, he's looking over my logs, they had me look for shorts in the wiring I didn't find anything. He told me to pull the unit and let it lay on the floor of the car to see if something was bunching up and causing the short. I did and it still acted up. Strange thing is today my timing advanced, injectors cycle increased exc but my MAP didn't change like it did yesterday. Very strange. I guess I'm at the mercy of Jermaine to let me know what he can do for me. This FI journey has been one PITA after another. But on the bright side I don't put many miles on the car, owe yeah thats because I can't seem to get reliable parts LOL.

i have never had a utec mess up after it was installed. if there was ever any issue, it was right when i started it up.

i think that something might be pinched or shorted out somehow. i have also seen the map sensors go bad and do some weird things to the utec datalogs.

im sure jermaine can figure it out for ya.

good luck

I received and installed my new map sensor today, the car seems to be running OK so far. I see they have sent me a Map Sensor Calibration Card? I'm no tuner I am able to hook up my laptop and get log info, but I don't dare try and change anything. Just wondering if I need to make any changes to the setting in the UTEC to reflect the calibration numbers from the map sensor. Or is it safe to plug and play? I tried reading the installation instruction for the UTEC but it's all Greek to me. I'm a General Contractor not a tuner. I'd just take it to a shop but closest ones are 10 to 12 hrs away.
If anyone could chime in I'd greatly appreciate your help. Thanks

Definitely don't take it to a shop for this. Take some time to read the manual and it will tell you how to hook up your laptop to the UTEC and easily edit these configuration settings. You can do it!! (said in Water Boy voice)

If you decide to do it yourself, and want some help after reading the manual, let us know.

I figured out how to set up the calibrations for the new map sensor, someone had posted a excel program that was very helpful. Now the problem is when I hit around 5k the AF gauge goes pig rich and the car falls on it's face. I'm at a cross road, I'm thinking about ditching the Utec and getting a Pro EFI or Haltech. Anyway if someone could chime in on why my AF's are so rich after just replacing my failed map sensor I'd appreciate your thoughts.

Quick guess would be that the tune is way rich for those RPM/load columns?

How rich is pig rich? Like, maxing out your UEGO (or whatever) at 10:1 rich?

Yes pig rich as 10:1, thing I don't understand is it wasn't that way before. And all I did was replace a faulty map sensor, so I don't understand why the tune would be different.
