Im going to try a 28 tooth s/c and 32 tooth jackshaft and see how that helps me with the 2.87 pulley.

just make sure you are ready for the kaboom and about 8k laying around for a built motor install.

Guys meth is the money maker! A tuner with some experience can make you power and a safer tune. The key is experience!

Will meth/alc injection make a huge difference on a vortech Z thought?

Yes, you can run more ignition timing.

unless you have a built motor, you are running on borrowed time over 400 anyhow. I use my meth to lower my AITs

I will have the mods in my sig including built engine over the next few weeks and will let you know if I made it to 450 at the wheels.

hey robbycolli, saw your sig. We ran similar times it seems at the track. When I was at 6psi I ran 13.2 @ 110. I know some think that anything over 400whp is going to kill a motor, but you also need to look that I trying to make this on a s/c not a turbo. My tq will be drastically less than whp compared to a turbo car. So I think that pushing for 450whp area is not that huge of a risk. Sure there will always be a risk and Im fine with that, but I think that its better to push a s/c than a turbo on a stock block. Just what I think atleast. Only time will tell I guess...
So is anyone running meth/alcy injection on a vortech? Or will I be a test mule?

450whp vortech doesn't generate as much peak tq as a 400whp turbo will. IMO it's not as dangerous, especially since the high tq doesn't come on when the engine is turning slowly

vortech's love water/meth and more timing. That's a good way to get more power out of the kit since it's a little harder to get more boost sometimes, but it can be a little more risky on a stock block. IMO I wouldn't go for really advancing the timing if your psi is over 12

My psi is at 11 right now with the 2.87 and revup cog setup. Would you recommend leaving the pully setup alone and going with the water/meth injection instead?

I'm on a built motor, would w/m be a better option than 2.87 pulley?

on a REVUP, hmm yeah maybe I'd go with water/meth before trying to mess with the pulleys more since the REVUP's seem to not have as many options for pulley mods.

nah, I'd go to the 2.87 ASAP on a built engine, especially since you probably lost some power with going with (I'm assuming) lower compression pistons

Which is the best meth kit to run on the Z? Prolly a newb type question there but I'm not to farmilar with it. A buddy of mine with a MSP is running labonte meth kit on his car, I like the way its setup as it comes with a 52mm gauges to tell you the flow rate your producing, if you low and warns if your nozzle is clogged. But then again Im not sure if this is the best kit for the Z.

If the kit comes with all that you have described . It sounds like a good kit . The best kit for the Z or G , is the kit that works the best on all cars .

There is one kit out there that has the tank and pump all in one package . All you have to is wire up the power and run and hook up the fluid lines .

AIS trunk mount kit is what I would go with, ready to hook up extremely easy to use

i just use the windshield washer tank as my reservoir.

there are lots of threads about meth kits. read up

but to recap, you already have a 2.87 pulley and want to make ~35 more hp? Assuming you are running ~11.5 A:F and a good timing, a couple more psi, wont make 30hp. If you strung out your timing with meth, maybe. But do you want to tune to the ragged edge?

Honestly, without cams, you have a tough road ahead.

I'm making 396 on a DD, but I have a different blower and a non-revup.
