TN Woes
Yes, the black hose that stays inside the tank and connects to the basket is the siphon hose.
If you've still got the stock pump I would swap that in and see what happens. It wont take long and it will help you troubleshoot by process of elimination.

Spoke with a guy from TN today, he also said it may be the computer re-learning and it could take a little bit of time. Can anyone speak to this issue? I don't think it runs long enough for the ecu to re-learn anything, and it only runs without stuttering for a few seconds.

its not the fuel pump, old one does the same thing, can't believe how loud that new one is though haha. Called TN, they said probly a vacum leak, I went through the instructions again, checked all of the lines. I must have made an error somewhere, but the turbo did spin at least. It did run a little longer tonight, but then sputter out. Good customer service though, definitely willing to help and told me everything they could think of to check.
Is anyone from Vinny Ten Racing on? if so please pm me, I don't know what else to do so i'll have to ship it out I guess. I was going to drive it to get the emanage ultimate installed and tuned anyways, hopefully whoever it goes to finds the problem quickly.

makes you wonder how much you coulda saved by taking it directly to a shop from the beginning to do the install?
the aftermarket pump should be MUCH louder than the stock pump.
Not sure how any of your problems are even related to the "ecu tryin to relearn"
hope it gets figured out soon!

lets not talk about how i could have saved by having a shop do the install haha. Very depressing. I'm almost competent though, the turbo did spin and the car kind of ran.

Yeah, I guess it will be close though, VTR is about 70 miles, to get it trucked down there, and then depending on what the problem is, it could still cost alot. I'm just hoping that if I have them put the emanage in and tune it after they get it running they'll give me a break. They have a good rep and I haven't heard of anyplace closer to Poughkeepsie. Having a hard time getting ahold of them though.

So Vinny Ten is going to help me out. Just waiting to see how much the car transport service will cost. Depending on when the truck comes, I may try a last ditch effort and pull the plenum off, change plugs, and put it back on tonight. But if it can come get the car tonight I'll ship it, I really can't waste anymore time. I'll let you know what I did wrong when they figure it out.

I had the car trucked down to Vinny Ten's, they found the problem pretty quickly, turns out I messed up the regulator while drilling to widen its hole. I can't believe I messed that part up, I really thought I had been cautious enough not to go too far in.
Anyways, it runs now and he said I did a decent job putting it together, minus a few mistakes mostly due to inexperience. Plus I cobbed the water line together to get it to reach the passenger side of the car, they must have had a good laugh over that haha. He's going to go through the whole system and put the rest of the body work back together (i sent it to him without the bumber and inner fenders attached). He's then going to put it on the dyno and have it ready for me mid next week. So cost wise, I'll be about where I would have been if I had just taken it in to be installed at a shop, plus the experience of almost installing the kit myself.

Well then all in all you ended up better off. You paid the same price to have it installed but you now have the experience of putting it together to be able to fix and diagnose stuff in the future. Vinnie is a great guy I spoke with him when I was planning on going with a TN kit and it sounds like he was fair with you. I'm getting ready to go FI too and as much as I'm hoping it all just goes smooth without any issues, I'm sure there will be plenty of snags and I will have plenty of questions just like yourself. Try to get a video of your dyno run or at least let us all know what your numbers ended up being. Good Luck!

I'll post the numbers when its done, he said it should be just what I want when I get it back. I'm pretty excited, is there any way to change the name of this thread? I think its got some good info in it, but want to make sure it doesn't seem like I'm bashing TN if people don't read it all the way through. Even though the water cooling kit that I got did not match what is posted on the TN owners forum for DIY for the 350Z, I didn't recieve incorrect parts, I just wish they had made it clear that you would have to order the longer line separtely if you wanted to do it like illustrated in the DIY.

And even though I've told you before, I will say it again, the 36" line will work!
