Vortech SC, bypass valve not functioning?

I had the "jet sound" with headers and SSV. Now it's more like air being released from an air compressor

Have no idea. When mine went bad it stopped working completely. I also noticed that it sounds way different depending on the way the outlet valve is pointed. If it's pointed towards the center of the car it's a lot quieter than when it's facing out towards the passenger side front tire
