The actual air intakes go directly into the turbos. (i.e. the filter(s) are relocated)
For most TT kits the turbos are down low, near your feet. So they route tubing up towards the front behind the bumper covers. In most cases this is where the air filters are located. There is soooooo much heat produced by the turbos that you should run an intercooler...the intercooler drops the intake temps......

Hope this helps

Anyways, down the road i do want to twin turbo it. I'm unsure what brand to get though. I hear alot about all, but i just need a good one for everday use. I dont really race or anything serious like that, but i want a good turbo. If im going to do it, i want to do it right. I hear good things about APS, Greddy, and HKS.

As well, i was going to buy cold air intake for the car as the first engine mod. However, every picture i see of a TT'd Z engine, i dont notice any cold air intakes. Why's that?

Thanks for the help!

If you know you will be getting a turbo kit, there is no point in wasting $200 on a cold air intake. First the gains are minimal, and second you can't use it when you have the turbo.

As far as which turbo kit to get, they are all good for normal driving, when you want to drag your car and put a built engine in, this is where you need to decide what your goals are for the turbo. with stock engine and no racing, either of the 5 major twin kits (greddy, JWT, hks, aps, sound performance) will do just fine.

One thing you should consider is which kit is more complete.
For example, the greddy kit comes with emanage blue for ems, and most people get rid of that right away, and also some kits do not come with blow off valves, so if you want one it will add to the cost. If you won't be racing and sticking with the stock engine, look at an item list of each kit, and pick which one has everything you want.

p.s. i am not saying the greddy kit isn't good, just an easy example of what needs to be considered when choosing a kit.

uhm if it's a 07....there's no kits out for the HR engine, right? so it would have to be custom fab all the way as of now if you want to turbo the 07 HR....i think at SEMA Greddy unveiled their twin turbo set up for the HR, but can you buy that yet?

welcome to the 350z. normally id be an *** but because your first car was a prelude which was my first car i feel alittle more compassionate. anyhow first do some research on CAI's. you will find that they actually have been show to take away power on the 350z. secondly about not seeing "intakes" you have an 07 350z. the plennum(where the intakes go) is different on the 03-06 vs 07. the 07 features dual throttle bodies hence the daul intakes vs the 03-06 which have a single throttle body. other than that you will also find that there is only one turbo kit available for the 07 350z and that is from GTM. i dont think greddy released theirs to the public yet but it was on display at sema. you will need to understand the layout of a turbo kit to understand. you really need to do your research and start understanding the basics of how a car works if this is something you seriously want to do. because 9 times out of 10 you will get bashed on a forum if you dont ask intelligent questions. DO RESEARCH. IT WILL HELP YOU FORMULATE BETTER QUESTIONS.
