What oil are you running? FI only please!
I'm trying to figure out what oil I want to use in my Z once its boosted.
Either switch to a nice higher end oil or stick with my castrol ctx and often oil changes. 2K miles or every 6 months...
Anywho, all I'm looking for is a simple reply with not a lot of debate since oil preference seems to be like *******s... you get my point...
So I'll start it off with what I currently use.
Castrol CTX with Nissan oil filter

100% FULL SYNTHETIC MOTUL...............
I see the bearing housings come in from royal purple and other oils and they end with severe coking. I would recomment Motul since from what I have seen from the turbos we tear down for warranty.

the rings used on the typical low comp short block will take awhile to seat. run organic 10-30w for the first 2 oil changes.
really depends on how and where you drive your car after that. realisticly, once a performance motor is built and goes to tuning, it will have more abuse happen to it during the tuning than most will put on their motors again. if it is going to blow it will do it then.
in other words, put in the weight/quality/weight-temp that matches your driving. keep an eye on consumption and the amount of miles and driving habits against the darkness of the oil. the darker it is the more carbon in it. carbon is not a good lubricant, neither is the sparkles, lol.
