Default Is this too kinky? (Vortech oil feed line)

Everyone stresses that the oil feed line should have no kinks at all - is this too much of a bend or will it be fine? It's hard to see in the picture, but it bends toward the camera quite a bit coming off of the 90 degree fitting.

Also, pretty stupid question to ask now, but will I be fine with the feed line hooked up to the sandwich plate? My used kit didn't come with the T adapter off of the oil pressure sensor, and thought it was kind of ghetto anyways, so I decided this was a better way of doing it.

Thanks!

It's the return line that needs to be straight as possible. Are you returning into the spacer or the upper pan?

Upper pan - just drilled and tapped that tonight. I'll make sure that the hose isn't kinked when I put the blower in.

Thanks guys. So I'm good running the feed line out of the sandwich plate?

Wouldn't you get a better oil supply into the feed line by having the feed line lower in the oil pan? Also do you plan on installing an oil cooler

Well, you can't hook up a feed line just anywhere - it has to be post oil pump so there's some pressure

I don't plan on installing an oil cooler - already spent too much money. I won't be tracking this thing, and I'll have 6 quarts of oil so I should be fine. Have a temp gauge though, so if it gets bad i can always install one. Double sandwich plates, yeah!

Your oil feed line is fine. The sandwhich plate is fine also. Anywhere in the oiling sytem that has pressure is good.

This is good to know. I just ordered a oil filter sandwich the other day, so I think I'll also take this route.

that is where i ran mine. Much better than the stock location with the extra connections. I used the Greddy and used 1 port for oil feed and the other for the oil temp sensor.

Can you explain why its "better" then T'ing off at the stock pressure sensor port? I would think it would be exactly the same. Unless it was just somehow more convenient for you to source it there.

It's much easier to get a tight connection off the sandwich port. You don't have to use a T connector so there are less points to leak. I don't think it makes any difference on the oil feed itself.

When I was installing my kit, someone stated that using the sandwich plate was a bad idea. He said that the oil supplied from there would not be filtered yet, while the line coming out of the stock sensor is filtered already (you want freshly filtered oil going to whatever FI you are running). I'm already T'd into the stock sensor port, but can anyone validate this as it may be helpful?

damn maybe it's not filtered. Looking at the service manual diagrams, I don't think the pressure port is filtered either.

could get one of these to be safe http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/...p=70&cat_key=7

Hmm....crap, that sucks that it's not filtered. Hopefully someone can confirm if the oil pressure port is filtered? If it isn't, then no biggie. But I don't want to be running unfiltered if if it was designed to be run from a filtered location.

Finally I contribute, score for me.

But if the pressure sensor doesn't have filtered oil I can't see it being a big deal if you use the sandwhich plate, so many people run off the pressure sensor port and don't have problems.

It is filtered. One of the ports come right out of the filter....

Ahh crap. Well...do I worry about it then? Or do I order the T fitting from Vortech and go that route? I've ordered too much crap from them already, but it'd be cheaper than screwing up the blower.
