^ Yeah, that didn't make sense to me either.

Does anyone know for sure if the oil pressure sensor port is pre or post filter? Unfortunately I won't be able to look at it until this weekend, but i'm thinking it's pre.

My sandwich plate has 4 ports and none of them are filtered. This would be a good time to hear from some of the install shops on here about this. Where are they running their oil feed lines from?

I don't see how the sensor port would be filtered

Does the sensor port lead into the ring that surrounds the oil out port?

Yal are way overthinking this. ALL the oil is filterd. The sandwhich plate oil will get filtered, but the sensor port is post filter. The oil goes from the pick-up screen, to the oil pump, then RIGHT to the filter. Then the oil is displaced through the motor, starting with the bottom ports and bearings. So, yes it will get filtered but the sensor port is probably better as it is post filter. If you are that worried about it, u can use some small inline filters on the feed line, just be sure to check them.

I just finished my vortech install a couple weeks ago. You might be surprised how small the brass orifice is at the oil inlet fitting of the super charger. Just got back from measuring the one I twisted off during install. .035" opening. Very easy to clog. I would make sure that line hasn't picked up any debris waiting to be installed. Yes the brass fitting at the oil inlet is easy to over torque and twist apart. After ruining the first one I asked vortech for a torque spec. They said there wasn't one, "just barely tight enough not to leak was the answer I got. BTW massive props to Sharif @ Forged Performance, Great Tune, Great To Work With!!

JonnyC, just noticed you mentioned UR crank pulley. Isn't that going to under drive the supercharger? IE lower boost at a given engine RPM.

I'm not too familiar with the vortech, but I would be most concerned about warranty issues. If you don't install like the directions say, and use a sandwich plate, does it void anything?

It's a stock size pulley - just light-weight. My crank pulley was so rusty and ugly, I figured I might as well upgrade

Ok, from that picture it looks as though the pressure sender port is pre filter. Phew, no more parts to order - I'll stick with the sandwich plate.

Thanks for the pic!
