Default installed my vortech today

I started at 9:30 this morning and I finished at 8:00. Here is a list of what I did.

1. Walbro in tank pump, used the CJM install guide and it was so easy.
2. RC 550 injectors
3. NGK 1 step colder plugs
4. Tapped the upper oil pan
5. oil filter sandwich plate with oil feed line
6. installed iso thermal gasket and had no clearance issues with lower plenum and injectors.
7. installed intake pipes, mounting braket, blower, intercooler, and bypass valve.

The one thing that became a real pain was some of the clamps provided by Vortech were to small, so I'll be buying new ones tomorrow.

I want to give a shout out to JonnyC and Shariff at Forged Performance for their help. Thanks Guys.

Next thing to do is reinstall bumper add oil, GTM pulley, and belt and get tuned by Japtrix next week.
NOW here are the pics

I'm not sure what you mean. Are you asking if I have a built motor? I do not. I only plan to push 400-420 whp.

There are plenty of vortechs putting more than 400 ponies to the ground on stock internals. As long as you have a good tune you should be fine. Thats why I'm going to Japtrix, They are local to me and very reputable.

Congrats Gabe! Glad I could help out. Hopefully you didn't have a hard time finding a 3/8 NPT tap.

But man, you suck - I'm on like my 4th day of my install. But that's taking my time and doing my wideband and gauge install. How are the clearances by the cog belt? I'm afraid the belt might shred up some wires on either side.

To everyone else about the power...a lot of people are running Vortechs on completely stock motors - and this is what I'm going to be doing. I know I run the risk of bending some rods, but I'm going to be really conservative for a while.

I found the NPT right down the street from my house. I'm sticking with the 32 tooth cog pulley for now and It is very close to the wires but I think it will be OK. The pipes were a pain to couple but I managed. Trying to get the intercooler straight was also a task. I still have to install my gauges which will take place this weekend and I have to figure out how to install the utec MAP sensor.

I went for the 3.12 on the pulley. I just routed all the vacume lines for the bypass valve , boost gauge, and utec MAP sensor. I started her up for the first time also but without the cog pulley belt. I just don't want to take that chance. I was going to drive to Japtix like this but the car is way to rich and wants to stall. Looks like I'm going to be towing the car there.

Hey gabe, how did you run the oil return line down to the fitting? I'm wondering if the route I went will cause any kinks. From the blower I ran it towards the passenger side down and around the charge pipe along with the rubber a/c line. Did you run it the same way? Or did you run it behind the charge pipe against the frame?

What I did is I ran it down the between the a/c line and the intake up-pipe on the driver side, then I secured it to the sway bar with a zip tie. I left the zip tie loose so that there would be some play. Now my question to you is the hose that was connected to the OEM intake, which is now connected to the air filter, how did you run that, cause I fought like hell to get this on. What is the point of having this on the air filter? Is there an alternative to this?
