Hell yes sometime I am on sometimes I am off. The benefit of this is the sure feeling of not missing a gear, and its so cool shift back and forth.

J/k Joe figured out the correct way to adjust the shifter so the shift are smooth.
When the Japanese instructions were translated by google, they read like this ----> "If 3rd gear inserts good then 5th is not as better massaging for more correctness is going to consult after movement of 3rd gear for optimal shift"
So it took him a while to figure it out.

Uhh???? I know
neat video! i like the inside cab camera. watched the 2nd video and saw some wierd issues with your last shifts (like it didnt want to, or didnt go into gear period) This would not be acceptable, especially when you watch this:
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/P...ive_111482.htm
(notice the helical cut stock 5th gear!
)
much faster, more confident upshifts AND downshifts without the need to yank hard (and obtusely)
I noticed that you made a few points concerning cabin noise from the gearbox.. that can be remedied by running helical cut dog engagement gears which are much more practical for street use and just as strong as their straight cut counterparts.
I think your next step will be a hewland (note the STA200 that replaces the older hewland design and weights 86lbs dry) offering adjustable shifter placement and a smaller case diameter, or convert to a Gforce T56 Helical Dog engagement box.
links to both:
http://www.midvalleyeng.com/printcataloglowres.pdf -> page 11 for STA200
http://www.gforcetransmissions.com/tran_gt-56.asp -> Gforce T56
When considering the hardened mainshaft upgrade, be sure to think about what you plan on doing with the car, drag type, drift (constant clutch kicks, shift locks) it may be better to run the softer shaft as the hardened shaft will shear from shock.
Take it easy !

Props to Joe for figuring that out in that case.

Nice find. As far as missing gears, you absolutely can miss a gear with this, i.e not pulling the shifter all the way back to the point of engagement. releasing th clutch to soon.. ect all the shifts in the video went thru, I have however missed a couple of shifts from trying to shift to fast.
If I had the money I would do dog gears, but the Army doesnt pay to well.
Good info !

It doesnt look as bad as i thought it would.. Looks pretty good.. I just dont like the reverse.. lol
Well for anyone that still is not sure about the shifter... Luie and I will be giving rides to those who are on the fence about buying one. heck if you are lucky and I trust ya I will let you try it for yourself!
Would a real sequential gear box be better? hell yes it would, but with a price tag of $17,000+ the Ikeya Formula option is well worth it at $2100 + shipping.

You look like a pro. Can't wait to get one, I am going to Modified Auto Designs to give a deposit on one. Thanks Luie
