iam planning to buy APS extreme twin turbo kit for my 350z but i don't don't know should i get my engine rebuilt or not..... i got an estimate for the price to rebuilt my engine at the car shop they said it will be $6900 plus $1000 core for a block with Darton sleeves, Carillo rods, Wiseco Extreme Duty pistons, etc.... please tell me that is a good deal or not?

i did alot of research during the winter on this. and it seems that if you want an engine built by a reputable builder, with all the goodies. you are looking at about 15,000$. and you still have no garuntees that it will hold up.

personally, if i wasnt looking for huge power. i would just slap on the TT kit. and tune it good with an HKS. and take your chances.

from what i have seen. a stock long block here on the forums, or on ebay, can be had for 1000-2000$. so you can blow up the stock engine 7 times before it seems worth it to have the engine built.

The smartest thing to do when puting F/I on a vq is building the engine for F/I, or the chances of it blowing it are alot higher, especially if your going with the APS extreme kit, it's better building it now than having it blow down the road and than having to do it all over again the right way.

Thats really a subjective question. It really depends on what you plan on doing with the car. If you plan on auto crossing, dragging or street racing. There are a lot of threads about this same topic. Do a search and you can read for days.
