Default My FI and build plans.

I currently do not have a Z. I am in the process of looking for one and shortly after I get one I would like to Vortech supercharge it. My plans as of now are to do a couple of things all of which relate to power.

Internals

http://search.ebay.com/search/search...50z&category0=

I would like to get rods and pistons in a kit such as any of these from ebay. I want to stay stock compression so I was wondering which kit would be the best for me. My plan is to go with Eagle rods and CP pistons. On top of that I also want L19 head studs.

That would be all for the engine build. I am hoping this will all be fairly cheap bought and installed but give me a very reliable setup.

FI

After that I would like to go with a vortech supercharger with the smallest or middle pully with a UTEC tune and whatever fuel system and injectors the tuner recommends.

Exhaust

Lastly i wanted to get megan headers and HFC and borla catback exhaust.

Summary

My hopes for this is to get a very reliable setup around 400-450rwhp for around 10-12K tuned and installed. About the only thing I would do myself would be the exhaust components. I was wondering what advice you guys have for me on this project because I hope to start it soon I am just trying to get my research in. Lastly, a main question I have is which tuner to go to. I live in GA so forged performance, who I have heard great things about, is very close to me but I have heard amazing things about performance factory in FL as well so I am torn. Which would you recommend. Any ideas are welcome and appreciated.

Well all of those responses are far from any of my questions but I dont want to buy a FI car cause I dont know how the owner has treated it. I feel like if they want FI they drive very hard and I would rather find one I know has been treated well.

Louie (eaglegreen) has proven his setup at 700whp to be reliable you're a fool to pass that up.

+1

There are a lot better sounding / performing exhausts, especially for FI than Megan and Borla. As you'll read, make sure you spend the money and pick out exactly what you want the first time. It's a ***** to go back.

here you go.....

Performance factory is very good and you wouldnt be dissapointed. I ran 360whp no problem VERY conservative daily driver with the vortech on stock internals. Doing internals is great, but for your power goals... not entirely sure it would be necessary. With the vortech, many setups run well into the 400s with a fuel return....

Honestly, may even be able to be in lower budget range, im currently around 6k spent for my setup and with another 1k headers, maybe plenum and tune 400whp seems reasonable...

I would speak to jeremy at performance factory and see what deal they can work for you.... they quoted me around 6500-6800 full tuner vortech with utec, pump and injectors installed. Feel free to ask away, sentry and barzten have plenty of experience for your number range and i dont mind what i can add....

forgive me... Been drinking for cinco de mayo
