Default Automatically Shutting VDC Off - KPtechnologies Module Installed

If you're FI'd car is anything like mine, the first thing you do when you start the car is press that little VDC button.

With the KPtechnologies VDC Memory module installed (www.KPtechnologies.com, $39.99) once you shut VDC off it will stay off until YOU turn it back on, regardless of how many times you restart the vehicle.

Installation is pretty straight forward and can easily be done in under 45 minutes.

First, remove the sill plate that runs alongs the drivers door opening nexto to the seat - grab it back by the B - pillar and gently lift up on it. It snaps in all the way to the kick panel so you have to gently work it free, paying extra attention to the area where the still plate attaches to the kick panel.

With the sill plate out of the way you can remove the drivers side kick panel. There is a plastic nut behind the dead pedal that can be unscrewed. Then there are just a few clips that hold it in - pull the kick panel towards the center of the dash and it should pop right off.

Once the kick panel removed from the car you will see a screw holding the drivers side lower dash in place - remove this screw and one other screw from the bottom of the lower dash panel and the entire lower dash can be pulled down.

After the dash has been dropped down you can access the wiring on the back of the VDC switch. Here you will make two connections. Connect the black wire (ground) to the KPtechnologies black wire. Connect the blue with yellow stripe wire (VDC Switch Signal) to KPtechnologies orange wire.

The final wire of the KPtechnolgies module needs to be routed down to the BCM in the drivers kick panel. Connect the light green wire (Accessory power) to the KPtechnologies yellow wire.

****Please verify ALL wiring with a volt meter BEFORE making any connections. Wire colors and locations can change based on year/make/model/trim/etc.!

Once these three connections have been made you can plug everything back in and test the module.

Please note that this is a MEMORY module - so if you turn VDC back on VDC will stay on until YOU turn it back off. So, this module will not necesarrily shut VDC off every time you start the car.

For more information on this module, or any of the modules KPtechnologies offers please PM me or check out www.KPtechnologies.com

This is definitely a must for anyone with FI. I've had it on my G for 2 years now. I don't think I've touched my VDC button since installing it.

I do believe the wires are the same, but it would be beneficial to use a volt meter to verify!

Just want to give KPtechnologies kudos--I placed my order Saturday and it arrived today (Wed)--in fact, it arrived ahead of the email they sent to tell me it shipped.

I'm going give the install a shot this weekend (my HR has that pesky TC).

Sorry about that, our shipping clerk was a few days behind on manually entering the tracking information.
