with all that invested in parts why didn't you at least go with a utec?

because the utec sucks. The build was already way more than he intended on spending. His goals were mid to upper 400's and the unichip could get him there. If he wanted to spend the money on an EMS, it would not have been the utec... would have gone with haltech or fcon

Because I would not even think of buying the utec and after the build I did not have another $2000-$3000 more for an EMS and then maybe a clutch if my spec did not hold. I will look into the FCON or Haltech if need be.. The unichip was able to hit my power goal for the car so I figured I would see how things work out.

VERY NICE. I'm glad GRD's shop car found a great owner! Impressive numbers on the unichip. Tuan is a great tuner as evident by your numbers.

I wanted to bump this thread up to see how the unichip tune has held up in the past 2 years.

O.P are you still thinking of upgrading to an Fcon or Haltech?

The car is still running strong.. I even brought it to the track this summer and made 22 runs..

I would still like to get a standalone. I am leaning towards the Haltech since I can get it tuned locally.

The only issue I have with the UniChip is on hard shifts there is some hesitation. Otherwise all is good.

That's awesome! Do you ever run the car at some tracks out this way? Also how's that DM200 working out for you? I was looking at one today!
