What intercooler are you looking at?
i did some research on the spearco intercooler that is supplied with the vortech kit dimensions are "20 x 8 x 3.5". it appears according to spearco it is rated for 450 HP. if that is crankshaft hp it is rated at than i am in need of a upgrade. i am either looking at a spearco upgraded unit " LARGER " or maybe a custom fabbed one. i am going to do more research before i decide what size and type to use for my current application as well as my future needs and power levels.

Well, it's not really an exact science as every setup is so different. How much power are you putting down? I believe the vortech intercooler should be suitable into the low 400whp range. A larger one wouldn't hurt, though.

I'm personally running the 28x10.5x3.5 universal spearco intercooler and it should be good for around 800whp.

also, logging your AIT on the road is the best way to see if the new intercooler is worth the money.

post back your results!

power i am putting down at this time "430RWHP, 390RWTQ, DYNO JET NUMBERS".i am going to be getting Corky Bells book so after reading through that maybe i can come up with some educated insight on the proper intercooler size. water/meth is also in the plans down the road.

This one would be good for 650whp or so and would not require any cutting of the bumper brace. Call around to turbonetics dealers and you can probably get it for a better price than listed there, too.
