If your only looking for 400-500whp I wouldn't get to crazy with the motor. Choose your kit of choice Greddy Twins, JWT, APS, Powerlab ST, etc..... and I would just do pistons and rods, and call it a day. You can get crazy with cams and meth kit, and all that good stuff, but for what your looking for you don't need to get crazy. You can probably do everything at once! IMO.

For no more than 500rwhp, pistons and rods would suffice on some spirited driving? Thats my goal as well (i have a G sedan, so i wouldn't be able to fit bigger tires in the back to help w/ traction). I was under the impression that you'd want to have pistons/rods, better radiator, and W/M injection to give you a reliable 500rwhp that you can beat upon?

To the OP:
if you can honestly live w/ a stock block TT kit, i'd say go for that initially, and pickup a used short-block to build on the side. But if you have the financial means to, go for the all-out build in one shot.

K.. What is that exact definition of "Don't Beat it to death"? I'm stock now, but when I push.. I take it to at least 6900 (Rev up) a couple times a day. If I'm having fun.. maybe ohh 15 times. I don't abuse.. I just drive the car like it's meant to be driven. I can't do this with a TT setup 360-370whp??

Not one of the choices you listed, but if can't afford to build the engine try out a supercharger instead.

Boost it now, if you think about it too long, you'll realize its way more expensive than any budget you come up with...
I boosted my stock block, but I have an extra one on the side im building

OP, I would suggest doing the following list:

-Pistons
-Rods
-ARP L19's
-Cams (BC Stage 1's or comparable 264 cam)
-Radiator
-Nismo T-Stat
-Whichever Turbo Kit you want to go with
-Standalone EMS

With the above items 400-450 DD and roughly 550-600 on high boost should be no problem (Numbers will depend on the kit you choose to go with).

That is a build..

edit: I'm not telling OP to go sleeved (I didn't) just do the build you posted which is really close to what I did minus the cams I left my stock rev-up cams in

Yea, but I am under the understanding that, with 9psi you cant beat on it, on a regular basis.
