Default STRI Gauges- Long Term Results?

Guys, I have been using these SAGA gauges ever since I've gone FI (See Pic below). However, I never really liked them after install. Too noisy, oil pressure is always finicky, etc..etc.. Anyways, I just sold my Z and I told the new owner that the oil pressure needs to be replaced. Instead of getting another SAGA gauge, I told him to go with DEFI or STRI. For those who have purchased STRI a year ago or longer, how have they been functioning? Are you glad you purchased them over DEFI? The owner wants the same color scheme as pictured, so I think these are the only two main options. He's not interested in just replacing the oil pressure gauge as he wants evertthing to match.

I know I haven't had them a year or longer, only installed for a few weeks....but the Amber DSD Slim are basically red (don't match the dash), and are very loud (can't hear over exhaust though). Also, the boost gauge reads like -4 when off, so it's quite inaccurate. Overall though...I'm pretty impressed. Oil temp and fuel pressure have been working great.

if you are even thinking about it, get the defi. ease of install, fancy features.. that I do actually use, they look good, but are expensive

I have a STRI EGT gauge. The servo is quite loud when it's calibrating during startup... Sounds like a CD player searching for a track on a CD. Lol~ :-)

The one set I installed here definately has some accuracy issues. The coolant temp is off by about 15F. The backlighting is pretty weak too....overall, not the greatest quality, but they are also pretty affordable. They just don't "pop" and the readability is so-so.

Personally, I am sticking with Defi.

I'm obsessed with Defi so my opinion is biased haha, but nothing else even compares to the quality.

That sounds familiar lol

My standard STRI guages suck. The oil temp guage is worthless, 10 seconds of hard driving and its maxed. Impossible to read in the day, inaccurate at all times. Basically they were a waste of money, one of these days I'll rip them out of the car, but they were installed nicely.

Mine are still working great, besides my boost gauge calibration being slightly off from the beginning.

Well, i have fuel and oil temp, and those were rock solid from the start. Just didn't feel like sending the boost gauge out to get replaced for being off 1-2 psi. I don't need my boost gauge to be that accurate either, since the only time I really need to know what exact boost I'm hitting is when I'm logging.

My EGT gauge is still working great. Consistently at least. Although I couldn't vouch for how accurate it is, since I have nothing to compare it too. Haven't melted my exhaust valves yet, so it must be okay. Lol~

PLX DM100 and then just create your own displays for them. Or get some pics of the stock Z cluster to Mike at PLX and he'll create some look a like displays for you.

Maybe it's just me, but the PLX displays/skins always looked really cheesy to me. Maybe it's the pixelation.

The new updates are much higher resolution. Plus you can make your own skins if Mike isn't able to do them for you.
