Default air bag light on with utec/turbonetics install

Has anyone had there air bag light come on after installing a Utec. I did the whole install myself and double checked the wire's behind the glove box and they seem to be ok, I also unplugged the battery over night and still unable to get the air bag light to go out. Could the utec be doing this ?

Utec will not do it in and of itself... Chances are 9/10 that you somehow messed up the airbag wiring when you were installing the utec; pinched/cut/shorted... something.

most likely something got unplugged and the key was turned on while unpluged and left a code in it even if it was plugged back in. take it to the dealer.

That will not reset the air bag.
Here is how I have reset mine on my G35 coupe.
you will use the key and watch the airbag light. when you first turn on the ignition you will notice that the airbag light comes on solid for a few seconds, turns off briefly the comes on and stays on.

first turn on ignition to run position (not start)
watch the airbag light when it initially goes out, immediately shut off the ignition. count to about 5 then repeat this step 2 more times.

after the third time, shut off the ignition. if done correctly the next time you turn on the ignition the light should come on for a few second, go out and stay out.

If you dont get it the first time try again. It took me a few times to get it.

Hope this helps

You're welcome. This trick works on most late model nissan/infiniti cars trucks and SUVs. Glad I could be of some help!

Check here, just search air bag reset. This thread has how to reset it, and I know there are more. I just looked into this a few days ago as well. Going to try it tomorrow.
