Exactly, and why are you afraid of the thumbs up? Maybe they didn't see the IC and just heard a BOV/turbo spool..

 

I say **** no to any billet grille!!!!

 

Like Zivman said on a Z with the stock bumper's grill still there the IC is very well hidden and most don't even notice it unless they are specifically staring at your front bumper.

 

im not 19 anymore, im not sure i like the attention i get from a giant intercooler. im the only person in my general area with a turbo 350. i did cut the bumper b/c at first i didnt care, but in the 3 weeks ive driven since turbo, ive almost caused numerous wrecks b/c of people staring, and everyone and there mother wants to race me.

 

Replace your bumper with one that has stock grille, or black mesh I guess. And if you are the only turbo Z chances are the locals have notified eachother of your car and will keep an eye out. I am assuming you have an upgraded exhaust also being that you are have a turbo kit. Might as well toss that too might get a thumbs up. Not trying to be an a$$ but FI attracts attention whether you want it or not sorry

Sounds like your bumper is the issue, not the 'giant intercooler'

 

LOL, if you've "almost caused numerous wrecks" because of people looking at your intercooler, you live around some very sheltered individuals.

I had a billet grille with my vortech setup. It was fine, if anyone tells you different they're full of it. It doesn't block out enough air for it to hurt anything. It hid it pretty well, I just decided to go with a different bumper (v2) so that's why I dont have it anymore. Anodizing actually is another option, but looks dull after time.
