Maybe your not understanding my post. In colder temps (less than 85 degrees) my Afr doesn't dip to 10.3. It seems to only happen when it gets hot out. I am wondering if that is my ss box not having any temp compensation in conjunction with the high ambient temps that is making it feel that slow. I wonder if my regular tune was closer to 11.2-11.4 my car would respond to the temp change.

do any of the engine managment systems out there maintain afr's to your tune reguardless of ambient air temperatures in open loop maps?

Depends on temp correction, and yes some are better then others...

No matter what the power is going to drop in the summer - at least as long as there's nothing done to reduce IAT's. I'm hoping to do the temp correction so that I get my AFR's to be roughly the same no matter what temperature (doubt I'll get it real close). But even being the same AFR, the hotter the IAT's the lower the power output.

No i understand . Thats what i am saying, your tune is only good for about half the year, then when it gets hot outside your afr becomes too rich. Thats what sucks about having a ems that doesn't have temp compensation or one that doesn't do it well.

I am going through the same thing right now w/ my utec(tuned in the winter). I am now idling at 10.3 so i decided to step it up w/ either a F-Con or Haltech

Since you're running a utec, why don't you just tune a separate map for the summer on your map selector switch. You will save a couple of grand doing this rather than buying a standalone.

That's what I did with my UTEC.

Yep, not a bad idea at all to have seasonal maps with the UTEC, if you live in a place that has large temperature variations.

Well i have some big plans for the future so i figure i might as well go ahead and get the standalone while the car needs a retune anyways. Plus my buddy has a fcon and i envy how smooth his car drives

Temp variations down here are just insane anyways and i dont want to have to worry about switching maps. Even in the winter it will get up to the 70's one day and then the next day a cold front moves through and it is in the 30's.
