Default Anything I need to know? Swapping 06 shortblock to my 03

hey guys, I just got an 06 longblock (oilburner) from my work (infiniti) and i plan to build the shortblock and swap it onto my current setup. I want to keep my 03 heads as I dont want to swap an 06 harness. Is there anything I need to know about swapping an 06 shortblock to 03 heads or are the blocks identical? I havent had a chance to even disassemble it yet.

Thank you for the help,
Aaron

Blocks are identical. Just reuse your 03 timing cover as well.

^ whats your logic? How many cases of VQ oil pump failure do you know of?

Beside the decimated one Julian posted about of course, which was the result of severe abuse.

I would not hesitate at all to reuse the oil pump. Sure if you are just looking to spend money, it cant hurt to get a new one... But the oil pump was built to outlast everything else on the car.

Some of you guys spend money just to spend money

Anyways OP, you could also use the rev-up valve springs and intake cams (i think you can actually modify the exhaust cam to fit as well). To me it would be a free worthwhile thing to do.
