Default Weird Act of SC!

today i was cleaning my engine bay with some degraser and water...i cover up the charger so no water gets there...i noticed that when i was cleaning the engine some of the degraser got to the cog pulley belt...well after finishing i turned the engine on and i noticed a smoother engine sound...After 10 secs my friend that was in front of the car told me that the charger wasnt spinning..when i got out of the car to see what was wrong the charger started spinning...

I took the car for a test and everything was smooth...

Can this be caused by some slipping of the belt due the degraser on it??

theres no way a cog pulley belt would slip without destroying the belt.

a serp belt might slip, but highly doubtful with just a little water and degreaser.

but if you saw the blower not spinning, then obviously it must have been slipping.

yeah...even when the charger got in..the sound of the car changed ...this is some weird thing..maybe the serpentine belt slipped..looking to hear more inputs...

Also when Idle i hear some metal on metal sound..i think that the charger is rubbing against something on the engine bay...i saw the AC line and it was resting against the charger..maybe that was the sound..how do i adjust the bolts retaining the blower and everything??

^ vortech, ati procharger, hks, stillen what SC do you have? if your slipping the COG belt on a procharger thats hard to beleive because of the cog pulleys a stillen vortech and hks i sould see but like stated above a lil soap water and degreaser iisnt going to make the belt slip

The degreaser got on your serp belt and was slipping , this would cause the cog belt not to turn . Most degreasers are very slippery to the touch

Yup, i'm sure it was just the serpentine belt. Nothing to worry about.

As for the noise - have you raised your idle? If it's the Vortech then it's probably just the normal Vortech noise at idle.

yep is a vortech..the degraser is pretty slippery...i mean by the noise that when i turned the engine over i dind't heard the normal Jet sound..but i guess this was caused by the degraser...thanks
