Default Loss of power...

Ok, so in the past week, I've installed:

1) ATI procharger
2) Walbro
3) Plenum Spacer

Today, I finally got it all put back together...but am not running the front belt on the supercharger as i'm waiting for the tune. So, I wanted to see how it was running. Everything seemed ok...EXCEPT....when I shift hard...in between any gears it seems like...the car almost goes into a limp mode or something. I have very Low Power...but i'm not limited to 2500 RPM or anything. Just no power. Then when I let off the gas, I can get back on it, and have full power clear to redline...no problems until the next shift. Oh, and there is no CEL...so it's not like the car is yelling at me...and no, the VDC was not on...i double checked that. But that's almost what it feels like. Feels like the VDC is owning me...but it continues to own me until i let off the gas a little bit, then get back on it.

Could this be because of the added restriction of the supercharger being inline with the air filter but not being driven? OR did i mess up on the install of something else? I'm at a loss here...

It has to be the SC, i had the same prob.. You need a good tune/ maybe a reflash of the ecu for a good idle.. Whats ur idle at btw? Be patient dont drive it without the proper tune..

do you know how much effort the motor uses to run a S/C? of course its going to feel slow.

and the flooring it, letting off, then flooring it again is only an illusion. of course it feels faster after you let off, then floor it again.

just wait till you hook up the belt to run the s/c and then you'll feel normal power again. but dont run it hard until you get a tune.....

just be patient. it'll pay off in the long run. get it tuned safely and you'll be happy you waited.

PS: my car is ****ing slow when i take off the cog belt to my S/C so i know what you mean.

hopefully im picking up what youre laying down in terms of your question.

What I'm talking about is much more than an illusion. I will have the car floored and the RPMs and speed stay about constant. I have roughly ZERO acceleration. Once I let off the throttle, and then get back on...yeah, it might be slower cuz of the install, but I still at least have power to accelerate. I'm talking about...almost being shut down as far as acceleration goes...

I'm hoping you are right. And i'm not driving it with the belts on...that's for sure.

As far as idle...it's sitting a little low...around 5-700...i'll be posting a vid later of the symptoms i'm seeing.

Another thing i didn't mention is that I did the ECU reset sequence (that hella long pedal sequence). So maybe that is why it is running rough? I needed to clear out a CEL code that I threw from starting the car w/o the MAF sensor being plugged in...

I'm sure the procharger has some sort of bypass, maybe that's causing the lag in power until you put the plenum in a vaccine to close it, prolly causing a rich condition too.

hmm, ok then. maybe i misunderstood your problems. typically the car will be slow when you install a s/c and dont have the cog pulley on. just drive the car to the dyno and get it tuned.
