Is this a proper turbo build?
-I had the the turbonetics single turbo tuner kit installed, which means I pieced together and upgraded everything except the turbo, piping, and intercooler on their kit.
Mods: Turbonetics Ball Bearing Single Turbo Kit
Turbo: Turbonetics 60-1 Ball Bearing Turbo
Intercooler: Spearco Large W.A.V.E. Technology Core with Cast End Tanks
Fuel Management: Turboxs EMS,Turbonetics Tuned Upgraded ECU with Larger Injectors
Air Filter: K and N Air intake
Wastegate: Turbonetics Evolution
Blow Off Valve: Turbonetics Raptor with Polished Discharge Horn
Intercooler Piping: Black Chrome Mendrel Bent Aluminum
Exhaust Pipes: Polished Mandrel Bent Stainless Steel with V-band Connection Between All the Pipes
Headers: DC Sports Headers
Downpipe: 3.0" Polished Mandrel Bent Stainless Steel
Exhaust:full 3 inch straight pipe to a single 3in carbon fiber HKS canister.
-PLX wideband installed for tuning along with a
-stand-alone defi boost gauge and turbo timer.
The PLX is a data logger that can log AND display A/F, EGT, oil temp and pressure, fuel pressure, Knock, boost, and many other variables on the fly. It's only been turbo'd since June and all work and dyno tune was performed by the Z's community well known Function Tuned in Northern Virginia. Other upgrades that I can think of include
-19" gold sf challenge wheels with brand new tires,
-tanabe springs
-Nissan Front lip ( I just got the front lip and have not sprayed it)
-Front Strut Brace.
I was told it is making 385whp. Is this set up alright for turbo application? From what I have been reading people are saying that a motor build is necessary. As of now I am trying to sell my evo and move into the 350z world. This car is absolutely beautiful and I'd love to pick it up, but I'm not going to waste my time if it's not proplerly put together for turbo and is going to fall apart in 3000mi (it's auto
). If this set up is alright, how would it fair in the 1/4 and what kind of cars would it be able to keep up with? btw 06 evo mr se w/ 390whp and only 10mi for only 26k. Price negotiable

+1 search button is your freind 385 is pretty good numbers for the turbonetics kit,as far as it being tuned and you worring botu it falling apart i wouldnt worry dave at Functioned wouldnt let a car rool out of his shop if he didnt think it was safe for the road or the customer,
While I would generally never recommend buying someone else's project, if the car is well sorted and the price is right, go for it. Ordering up a compression test first may be a good idea though.
And no, you dont need a built motor for that level of power.

Keep the Evo.. Anything close to 400awhp on an Evo/Suby is fn' fun to drive. I would only get the Z if you really really love the beauty of it (it does look alot better than the 4dr haha)
i've ridden in a few Evo/Suby's that were close to over 400 awhp.. it's a CRAZY feeling compared to a basic turbonetics. A built engine, high HP Z.. that's a different story.
I would think the DC Headers would be a big problem.. What material are they? They are known to crack and I wonder how hard it was to fit them into a TN kit as many headers don't fit the setup. Essentially you're looking at an automatic Z with a TN kit with larger injectors (?), Utec, upgraded turboback.
