IP Update: #1 at BOTI, and more 8sec 1/4 mile passes w/ VIDEO
nice run hal. that is one fast effing car!! amazing you are getting into those times without having to pull the tires off the ground too. guessing thats the reason for the soft starts, lol. you guys still running the stock diff?
quicker than the 10's and a 'glide will suit ya better. not to mention parts are relatively cheap and handle TONS of power. watch the tach and see how the engine is always sitting right in the powerband and only one shift for consistent times.

Thanks everyone. I drive the car, and a soft start is a 1.48. Here are our two back-back timeslips broken down:
60: 1.489
1/8: 5.83 @ 126mph
1/4: 8.94 @ 158mph
60: 1.489
1/8: 5.83 @ 126mph
1/4: 8.93 @ 158mph
We use a powerglide because I have a personal hate for TH400's after destroying many of them in the past in my Lexus. Powerglides have less rotating parts, and can take an amazing amount of abuse. If the stall and gear ratios are setup correctly, I don't think you sacrifice anything compared to a 3speed. I also believe the glide is more consistent. In all of our 2speed equip cars we run tight converters so they drive nicely on the street as well.

I have to wonder because your "soft" 60 ft times are anything but...And a 1.48 is soft... we have run in the 1.3s before, and even then we weren't standing on it too hard.
We are still using the stock unopened rear dif that came in the car. (Though we travel with a spare...

Two very nice, ultra consistent runs.
