you heard this a million times, but YOUARE TEH MAN!! and I am definately envious because I don't think I would ever have the ***** to try something like this. I definately would just get impatient along the way.

Now come on guys all these compliments are making me blush.... shucks... lol No but really thanks guys and gals it keeps me going.
Only progress I can give you is I just bought all the bends and flanges I need for the turbo setup we are fabbing up, all stainless steel. And I bought a A/C compressor (yes I am going to have A/C) power steering pump and alternator as those were all missing from my engine set, so now I wait....
Anyone have an extra 350z manual driveshaft laying around? I need one to have mine made....

I singed up just for this thread. Someone get this man a driveshaft!
Your work is inspiring. I've always thought the VQ35 would be an awesome engine for a 240sx, but not many people have done it and those who have have fallen a little short IMO. Please get plenty of vids when its done!
I can't believe your turboing it already! If it was me I'd need some time to get used to the engine N/A before I decided to go with boost, but I guess it saves you some work and it adds that extra layer of ridiculous to this project.
I like the idea of YOU making a vq swap kit because I bet yours would actually be worth the moolah...
I'm also very curious what your plans for the suspension are. Is this going to be a drift car, a drag, or a racing setup? I'd love to see a 240 up with a road race setup and VQ swap!!

No driveshaft, I am still trying to source one from a manual 350z.
I have some new pics, but I forgot my camera so Mike's camera phone will have to do for now. Quality is not the best but to get you picture hounds your fix here goes....
Well I wasnt happy with the quality of my original vq mount kit that was made by that other company so I decided to make my own...
Pictures of the janky shifter bracket I originally had:
Dont know how much you can tell but its all bent up and welded funky, its in no way symmetrical.

Crappy welds:

Cut it up to see what I expected, hollow round stock:

Overall this shifter bracket is just plain shotty, there is even play where the round part of the shifter sits in. So here is the start of mine:
Solid square stock:

Bracket ready to be welded together, just need my buddies 350z trans to make it easier for fitment this way we can tack the bracket together inside and outside the car without me having to remove my trans:

My stainless steel fittings and piping came in today, a little teaser, we cut the stock flange off our headers and did this to it:

Im In Da Club Hollerin' v-band band, v-band band....lol

As an SR20 S13 and Z33 owner and enthusiast I am totally envious of your build. Please post more pics and if you want post it on 240atlanta.com . The guys there would go nuts after seeing how sweet this blend of car is going. +reps to you sir!
I have a driveshaft out of a 6MT G35 if that helps - I'm guessing its a bit longer but it should mate up to the tranny with no problems. I also have all the transmission parts - slave and master cylinders, clutch and flywheel, clutch pedal, etc.
