Ok so lets get back to the tedious task of wiring. The approach to wiring the 240sx to think its a 350z is simple, but time consuming. The idea is to not modify the harnesses if possible to avoid electrical issues. Only lengthen and shorten wires when necessary. So I started with the door harness. After some studying of both the vehicles harness and electrical components I have found that Nissan has and hasnt changed their designs much (which is another reason I love them). I found that they changed their door lock actuators in shape but not in circuitry function. This works out in my favor because I can use the 240sx door lock actuators. This saves alot of work because 240sxs and older Nissans use a series of bars to function the door locks and door handles that allow access in and out of the vehicle rather than cables like the 350zs and newer Nissan use. Not only this, the 350z and 240sx use the same plug type for their door actuators and they both activate on a simple 12v system. Only problem is that they are pinned differently. This is a simple fix as easy as following the schematic de-pinning the 350z plug and re-pinning the 350z plug to match the 240sx circuitry. We now move to the window switches, as you may recall I am using 350z window switches molded into 240sx window switch trim, so nothing to be done there. We now move down to the window motor. Looking at the 350z window motor it is the same as the 240sx externally. I have yet to confirm this but I am 99% sure the motors are interchangeable. They just function differently internally and the 350z motor has more wires. It should be as easy as just swapping the motors out on the tracks. We now move to the door lock switch. 240sxs have one on each side, where as the 350z only has one on the drivers side. This is simple shave the one on the passenger side of the 240sx. Their wiring is the same and they function the same, which means I wasted my time modifying the 240sx door handle before. I have yet to see if the sensor itself from the 350z will interchange with the 240sx switch, I am hoping they will if they dont its a simple fix, cut, swap connectors and solder them back together. Obviously the 240sx lock will have to be re keyed to match the ignition cylinder of the 350z by a lock smith. Luckily I have that parts 240, so I didnt completely shoot myself in the foot by modifying the door handle when it was unnecessary. We now move onto the mirror plug. The harness on the drivers side had to be modified to move the connector for the mirror switch to the inside cabin of the 240sx. Unlike the 240sx as you all know the 350z mirror switch is on the door. They use the same circuitry as well so it is as simple as a small rewire and relocation of the switch harness. I retained the stock 350z connectors as I have yet to decide if I am going to use 350z connectors or 240sx connectors. We now move down to the speakers. 350z has tweeters on the door as well as the speakers where as the tweeters are on the a-pillar of the SE edition 240sx. I simply deleted the wires going to the tweeters and left the wires in place for the door speakers. This works out to my benefit as I will put the tweeters on a separate circuit from the door speakers which will result in better sound when I run amps and such. After all was said and done, I taped up the harnesses and loomed them up to where all the connections of the 350z harnesses matched the location of the 240sx harnesses, so that when they are installed they are routed just like the 240sx harnesses. The result is shown below.

What happened mang?! It looks like you're starting another project. Any surprises?? I submitted this thread to Autoblog a while back. Haven't heard anything since.

To finish this car the way I wanted to would have taken alot more money, alot. My heart was also more into another chassis over the S14, so ultimately I would have finished the S14, spent all that money and end up selling the S14 for the new chassis. So to me whats the point of going through all that work only to get rid of the car for another? So I decided to quit the S14 before I got any deeper. Trust me the new chassis will be waaaay cooler and meaner than the S14.

Ahh makes sense. Are you still going with the same motor option? There are bigger motors that you can use.....

Im going with the vq30det essentially the same in physical size as the vq35de, the new chassis wont allow me to go bigger, hell if it will even fit at all lol.
