Today, my turbo was finally shipped back to me from being rebuilt and joy was all in the air till i saw this...







Im really startin to get sick of this TN kit. First, my wastegate pipe broke off the weld, then my turbo blew, and now a stupid *** bracket breaks off? These guys dont know how to weld for ****.

 

You should be able to get that fixed in no time.....

 

Ya its an easy fix. Im just so upset that this happened in the first place. I just had to make a thread and get this anger off my chest before i do something stupid.

nothing a weld can't fix. All aftermarket turbo kits are going to have some problems. I have put a hard 3k on my kit with no problems at all.

 

the bracket could have been pre-loaded during the installation. make sure to align everything "evenly" so you are not putting pressure there.

As hard as I run this kit I have not seen a crack where you have yours my guess as posted above is due to pre-load.

 

stop being cheap homo.. if you bought it new from the get go you wouldn't have half the problems.. you probably spent so much time and money fixing sh~t you could have had a new kit

Your lucky you don't live in my neck of the woods. I have argued with you in the past......Your threads have no knowledge what so ever.. All you do is Bit** I guess you failed the test in the above link..

 

You already did something stupid. You posted this thread without doing anything to alleviate the issue yourself.

I've seen people drive their car over curbs and complain about the welds breaking on the kit... Next time try not forcing the kit into place during the installation or bottoming out the car.

While you're at it, PLEASE go sell your kit. Maybe someone with some attention to detail will pick it up and be happy with it.

While it may be a preload issue etc, I have personally seen and repaired that hole from broken welds on multiple turbonetics kits.

 

I'd be willing to bet a large of the occurrences were from self installs or shops that have had little experience with the kit.

I'll honestly say that the kit is really hard to get aligned properly so there is minimal torsion on the piping under load. I had to really struggle hard to get mine lined up when I installed it.

 

Name me one kit that is completely failsafe or is not subject to issues.
