I will be talking to my tuner tomorrow about these issues to see what he can do about them.
Once the car hits power in 2nd it runs like a bat out of hell. I just couldn't get the car in 10 runs to avoid the redline on the 1-2 shift.

Alberto has been in my car with the twins and vb and he has seen it shift very fast so i cant imagine why you are hitting the rev limiter......unless you are letting the trans shift itself.

with that much power... I would keep bigger tires on the front bro... the extra 20 or so lbs isnt going to hurt you with that much power...good luck hooking up..if it does...you need the grip to keep that bia bia straight....lol
very nice.....auto at the track...FTW! lol

There are 2 issues - one is the shift pressure, the other is the shift delay. If the shifts themselves are hard and crisp (whiplash is a good way to describe it), then you definitely have the upgraded valve body and line pressure has been increased appropriately.
I have driven in cars that have more of a shift delay than others. In these cars, grounding the transmission casing to the negative terminal of the battery as well as to the ECU has reportedly helped with the delay. I *think* it helped me.
My car has a minimal delay and I must admit Sharif thought it was smoke and mirrors and I have yet to reinstall my grounding wires after his guys took it off and handed them back to me in a box. But I plan to because I do recall shifts being quicker with them on (but that was when I was NA).
EDIT: I should add that shift crispness and delay is seemingly a function of rpms. At low rpms, I barely feel the shift anymore. If I do an ECU reset the shifts are all very hard again so there is some learning going on. Above 4k rpms, regardless of load, the shifts are really hard and quick. That's one reason I haven't bothered with reinstalling the grounding wires.

I have been on with SRD, Intense, and SGP a lot today to figure this out. The end result is that we are pulling the transmission and sending it back to SGP in Houston for them to look at it. Since they built it and they have all the right equipment, they are the best ones to diagnose and repair anything that is going on.
I'll keep everyone updated on what the issue is and the progress. Hopefully, this will be the last hiccup in my build and we can see some good numbers at the track soon.
Thanks for all the feedback and suggestions. I ran through all of the suggested items today and we couldn't find any problems.

Once the car is back and running strong (1-2 weeks), I'll be heading back to the track and I'll let you know.

It's all good but just let me know when you're going back. I want to get some runs in against her.

We decided NOT to pull the transmission out. We are putting in the stock TC and sending the upgraded one back to SGP. I want to see if they can just tighten it up to about 2500 or 3000 rpm, instead of scrapping it completely.
As far as the shifting goes, we believe that the stock ECU is causing this. It is not consistent and when it occurs, I can turn the car off and back on and it shifts quickly again. It never quite gives you whiplash, but it chirps the tires at 3000rpm shifts from 1-2 and 2-3. I don't believe that the shifting delay is a transmission problem, but more of a computer problem. I am having Intense ground the tranny and the rest of the car while they're at it.
I am also considering a technosquare reflash to remove the rev limit on the stock ECU and to see if they can shorten the shift delay as well.
Just see if you can get your money back for the TC instead of them tightening it up to 2500-3000. Remember that the OEM TC is 2650-2900 per Nissan specs and it should work just fine.

Also, I was wondering, what ECU do you use and did you have to reflash the stock ECU as well?
Several of the problems I'm having seem to be related to the stock ECU having control of the shifts. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

My tuner thinks it will be fine, but he doesn't have experience with this particular TC. His 5AT experience is with Supras. Do you have the stock TC on yours?
