Hey everyone, I just traded my TN G35 for a 94 rx-7 R2. Its got a built engine, and a Greddy T-78 single turbo. I'm pretty sure the turbo seals are bad, it smokes only when its idling or when i let off the gas, as soon as it starts to spool the smoke stops coming. also it doesnt smoke on start up, another reason why i think its the turbo and not the engine, the engine would smoke right away, but the oil leaking through the turbo into the exhaust would only smoke once the exhaust piping is hot.

Now to my question, are there any shops in the upstate NY area, or easter CT that can rebuild a T78 and have a good rep. I got quotes from shops for around 300 but i have to ship it out and i dont want to be without it for 2 weeks. I would much rather just drop off the turbo and pick it up.

Ask for Mike. They do FANTASTIC work rebuilding GReddy and other turbochargers - reasonably priced with fast turnaround. If you cant find anything locally, give Mike a call. They are in PA.

I'll second the gentlemen at Blouch Turbo. they are local to me, (when I'm home) have always treated me well, and do excellent work. I had them re-profile a GT4294R compressor cover for a GT4202R wheel and the machine work they performed was better than from the factory.
