Default APS Single Turbo Questions

Hey everyone,

I have been searching and there is very little information about the APS Single Turbo on this forum so I figured that I'd post my own thread. I just have a few questions and I was wondering if anyone could help me out!

With the APS Single Turbo, what is the best exhaust to run with the system? I was looking at the AAM 3 in. single exhaust. I currently have the Injen SES Titanium tip and from my understanding this exhaust will not work with the ABS kit. Is this correct?

Also, is there anyone who is running the APS Single Turbo kit? If so, can you please post some dyno numbers with your current mods. So that I can get a basic idea of what direction I need to go with my car.

Thanks for all of your help in advance!!

The best exhaust to run is the APS ST exhaust, it mates right up and it flows great. The way the APS kit is setup you do not need the factory y pipe, which I think you currently are using...thus meaning your exhaust wont fit.

I have had the kit on my car for a little over a year, and it made 425whp @ 11lbs tuned by GRD in Chicagoland. I don't have my dyno on this pc, otherwise I'd post it up.

I may be getting rid of my kit + exhaust this winter, if you're interested shoot me a PM, or at the very least if you send me a PM I can send you over my dyno.

I've had the APS ST for about 3yrs and w/ HKS F-Con iS. I hit 403hp with 390tq on 9PSI and stock block. I also run the APS ST exhaust, if I'm not mistaken that's pretty much the only exhaust you can use unless you run the external wastegate. As for other mods, I also have a plenum spacer and mainly cooling mods. No exhuast clips though.

Thanks Method! I'm thinking of running the APS ST with the exhaust with a UTEC, hopefully, making the same numbers you are! I wish someone had a good video clip... =/

Thanks!

Most people with APS ST including me give up on ST, and go TT soon or later.. So, my advise to you and the OP is save up more and go with TT. In the long run, you'll save money and have more power... Because boost is like drug... once you taste it, you want more..

it is capable of over 500hp but the money you will spend to accomplish it will exceed over the price of a TT kit.

aps 3'' dual exhaust, utec, tial external wastegate pipe, plenum spacer and I make 37xhp and 37xtq on a dynodynamics. with the gtm turbo upgrade its will break 500 easy but its kinda expensive. I wish I went tt like every said but I am happy with the power and just moved to the city so I don't need 600hp for a city car.

you could always go with a powerlab st kit. That will give you plenty of room for horsepower advancement.

You would have to modify and upgrade many parts of APS ST kit in order to achieve 500+WHP... Not worth it.
If I want to go with a single turbo again, I would look into powerlab st kit as well.

ya you can reach higher power with the PL kit, but the curve looks like junk for city driving as your spool shifts hundreds of rpms to the right.

Just because it makes power, doesnt mean its fun usable power. Thats why the TT's are the best choice for a daily.

Unichip that comes with the APS ST already has a pretty solid map in it. You can pretty much plug it and play. However, I strongly recommend you to get it mapped by your local Unichip tuner. If you don't have Unichip tuner near you, you are SOL.. Either just use the base map in the Unichip or get other ECM. Seriously, as I type this I'm having a Dejavu because others have already discussed on these topics to death.. SEARCH!
