Aspec's Works Bell Paddle Shifter Kit for the 5AT!
Just a quick note. Installed this last night. Big thumbs up for FI automatics. The paddles shift quicker and more consistently than the stick. It's a quick short firm click. Very responsive. Can be positioned not to interfere quite easily. The regular stick feels very clunky compared to these! No more mis-shifting cause you're thrown back by TORQUE!!!
INSTALL NOTE: To install the plug and play harness, the instructions indicate pushing the release tab on the left of the stock harness plug. It is on the RIGHT (didn't get translated from Japanese instructions). Visualize the tab (USE LIGHT), then use a flat head screwdriver to push it in while pushing back and the stock shifter plug comes out with minimal force and takes 10 secs. I spent an hour because I was trying to do it by feel with my hands. Take a look at the plug and play harness - it has the exact same type of plug on it that goes into the stock position. If you examine that, you'll recognize easily how to take the stock plug out.
Rest of the install is easy - 2-3 hours total time if you're a perfectionist or perhaps more if you have as much crap as I do under the center console. Very flexible positioning to suit your taste - I installed similar to the g35 install link below and its perfect (paddles flipped but as high as possible).
Good link for G35 install here and for the 350Z here, so no need to rehash.
I was skeptical, but this thing is nicely implemented. The micro-switches they picked are great for this application. Car should've come with these...
(sorry for the crappy cell phone pics - the install links above have good pics)
I wanted these before ZdayZ but they weren't ready and I had to wait a few months longer. A+ customer service from Aspec though. They told me I'd have to wait, but it was ready when they said it would be. $400 shipped was the special deal for the pre-order. Not sure what it is now. Logan is the man to talk to. Thanks Logan!

My apologies I didn't come across this earlier (thanks for the heads up Raj!)

So far so GREAT, all the customers who have installed it love it and have had only good feedback thus far
If anyone who has the kit has any issues, please contact me immediately and we will find a solution or answer
Here's another great install and review thread by another forum member Drewer:

The paddle shifter kit is a piggyback on your car, and does not modify or change the car's transmission

Thanks Logan!
Thanks for your excellent write up I linked to above - makes it easier for everyone else installing!

Almost all the 5ATs have rev matching (except the very early versions in the G35 sedans). It will shift for you in D mode. In MM mode, it will hold the gear unless you come to a stop, then it'll drop back down. Again this behavior is correct except for some very early sedans where it acted like a top gear selector.
