Talking Going Forced Induction PETT build

Hey guys, I thought i'd post up pics and updates as I do my PE TT kit install.... I wasn't expecting to do this so soon, but after riding around in the FI Z's I couldn't help myself ( Its very addicting ). As of right now I have everything ( I think ) except my utec and the time to install it. So while I get those last two things check out my build list and see if I'm missing something. Thanks and check back for updates!!!

Before...:

where she sleeps at night.....

the inside:

the outside:

Hopefully this will have an intercooler in it soon!!

and the kit.....

The build list:
-PE TT kit w/ SS headers ( I know I know, but my welder is re-inforcing the welds and trying to rig up a bracket.... we'll see how that goes)

-RC550 injectors w/ pnp clips
-AAM Fuel return basic
-Walbro 255lph pump
-AAM 3" true dual exhaust
-APS 3.5" Test Pipes
-AAM plenum spacer
-HKS SSQV BOV
-HKS EVC 6
-HKS Turbo Timer Type 0
-Turbo XS Utec ( will be here soon )
-NGK Iriduim One step colder plugs
-AEM UEGO A/F gauge
-Autometer boost gauge.

That about wraps it up..... if you guys can thinkg of anything else please let me know

Getting a lot of help from JTGLI and mad props go out to him for all of his help already

Sweet.
The install isn't too bad. Just take your time.
You can water cool those turbos.
While you're at it, add a KOYO

get a better radiator than KOYO. its worth the extra $ for the PE one.. which is basically a ARC radiator rebadged, and 400 bucks cheaper

you dont need the plenum spacer if ur going turbo, but hey, its your decision.
if you're gonna be doing some track work. i highly suggest an oil cooler.

but overall. welcome to the PEtt club

... and start saving up for the cast manifolds while you're at it.. just a matter of time..

oh wait. i just saw the picts.

the intercooler the way it is.. i think you have a G35 pett kit. not the one for the Z... the intercooler inlet is on the bottom, which the outlet is on top. to gothru the radiator support frame.

like this:

It looks like it was a Z in the GTM build thread...maybe they changed it?

To be honest I would rather have a reinforced SS manifold then a cast, with all the greddy cast manifolds cracking also.

Ha, had to do a double take on the location when I saw the Bob 94.9 banner in the background of one of the pics.

We'll have to get all the boosted G35/350Z together when I get home, seems there are quite a few in the area now.

Yep, I've seen the PE casted manifolds crack too. So nothings for sure.
I could only guess that the weight of the exhaust did the damage at high temps. The twisting of the motor during acceleration probably added to the stress on the manifolds.
I have the AAM TP also & they don't have mounting brackets. You may want to look into having something installed for support. Maybe an engine torque damper or solid motor mounts. Maybe even some flex pipe after the TP's.
Water cooling lowers temps & helps prolong the life of the turbo.
Oil cooler is a good idea too. I got the Stillen, pricey but easy install. Even if you choose a different location.
