Default vortech is being a pain in the ***.

so, my blower was rebuilt 2 months ago. vortech was a pain when i had it done. they told me it was going to take a week. they didnt tell me it was going to take a week to open the box that i sent it to them in. i got the blower back 3 weeks later, and i put it in. a few days ago i noticed something odd... yesterday i couldnt take it. today its gotten worse.

i just took the blower out to send back to them, but im tired of this ******** they give me. they said it was going to be fixed ebfore and it wasnt. they tell you what you want to hear. i dont want to hear that **** anymore i just want a new blower and if they dont want to give me one then ill take the approprate means to get one.

the rattle isnt right. its not supposed to rattle. especially like THAT.

anyone else got this problem and have a problem with customer service like me?

unfortunately yes, many people have sent their blowers in for repair only to receive one that goes bad quickly.

Just dont give up bro.. Keep pushing them to give you what you paid for!!

Sounds like either the gears are ****ed or a bearing.... Something is hitting...... Somewhere...

Ive sent in a blower several times . Only once have I gotten it back as quickly as they state . The time they quote you is when they open your box. Not the time it has been at thier shop . I know its a pain , but stick with it till they get it right .

My roots M62 supercharger sounded like that when the gears went. This was do to the "rebuild shop" sending me a unit without oil in the gear housing. You can see the damage in the pic, and that's probably what your gears look like:

This was the setup that it was on, a 97 Ford Probe GT. Built everything myself.

It will seem like the sound goes away for some as the RPM's increase. It's still there at a higher frequency, and that makes it seem like the noise is gone.

Good luck

maybe it is the video footage that is giving the apperance of this but did anybody else notice that the serp pulley is turing rather slow for the vq base idle rpm? to the OP are you making the proper amout of boost with your setup? i am wondering if you might have a woodruff key problem on that serp pulley and that is what is making that horrible noise. just a observation.......

the fact is, my blower NEVER EVER EVER sounded like this one.

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/uH7zhEdDA5E&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/uH7zhEdDA5E&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

THAT rattle is NORMAL i can deal with it. what mine is doing is wrong. that blower sounds nice and healthy.. mine never sounded like this.

heres an update for you.

my car is NOT driveable right now. i cant go anywhere. so im stuck.

i called to speak this guy that ive been dealing with. sure.. they put me on hold. i get his voicemail. no good. i want him, not voicemail.

so i call back, she tells me shes limited in what she can do. i said, well, i dont have a car that works. you do. whose limited now? she had nothing to say. again, i ask to speak with todd.

todd armstrong, the CHEIF OF OPERATIONS, isnt even in the building. the operator told me comes in at all different times. so basically, i said, "so you all do what you want around there, and it sure does show in the work quality that you do." then she got pissy with me. so i asked for SOMEONE in charge of SOMETHING. so i SPECIFICALLY asked to speak with a PERSON, not a answering machine. thats too difficult. ive been patient. ive played by their rules.

not anymore. its my turn. im not going to be pushed around, and im not going to take this blower back. vortechs customer service basically SUCKS. flat out blows. i wish i knew this before i bought it. i would have gotten a stillen. im just going to keep calling back, until the operator is tired of hearing my voice and FINALLY lets me speak to todd armstrong... the guy who SPECIFICALLY told me to call him back. do you tell people to call you back and then ignore their calls or messages? i think not. at least in my business, thats not how it works.

ive got no problem with giving vortech a bad name like im doing now. they havent proven anything to me. the blower is 2 months old. they cant even get it right. 2 months this thing lasts?? are you serious?

please....

i believe i have the support of EVERYONE on the forum with a vortech blower.

please, if i have your support, speak up.

Did you wirte the RA number on the box? Have you checked to make sure you're not over spinning the blower?

they didnt even give me an RA number. they cant even get that far with me on the phone.

it sounds like they are in a hurry. so urgent to play solitaire or something other than what they should be doing.
