I have had a check engine light and surging idle since my motor was built. It has been tuned numerous times by sgp but the surging never went away and even stalls sometimes. On GTMotorsports website they have a ECU tune that claims to get rid of the check engine light and the surging. Has anyone purchased this re-tune with success?
I had some loping at idle and raised it some. Along with some fine tuning it can be made steady. I went through Technosquare because it is much cheaper than the GTM flash, BUT it doesnt eliminate the CEL. Good luck.
it is a lot in the tuning
the only CEL I had was from high idle, I was able to tune it enough so far that it doesn't die out on my like it used but but it still surges slightly, more when the ac is on, I just have to spend some more time on it and no CEL at all

Osiris - it works. It can eliminate any list of CELs you want gone - permanently. GTM is using the same technology (pro version) to my understanding so I imagine they can do what you ask also and it won't require purchase of Osiris.
Surging at idle I believe is due to the stock ECU not having control of timing. On the Haltech, setting it to "C" (copy through) should fix it.

I have it and I didnt have surging and no cell light and the rpm limter is gone, top speed limiter is gone. If you have a rev up motor I will sell you mine for $400 with a exchange for your stock one. I paid like $700 or something stupid like that.

On thier site is states that it keeps the ecu on open loop and that is what gets rid of the surging and hunting for a stable idle. This is the most important thing for me because my idle is crazy when the engine is cold or i turn on the ac. Very annoying and imbarrasing. SGP just couldn't get it right and I don't have 6 hours to drive back there for an unguaranteed tune.
Just curious if you know if you get the RPM limiter taken off will you have to retune if you have a stand alone type engine management like fcon?
GTM re-flashed my ECU and it is working great!!!
Before the re-flash I was not idling well at all. I don't remember if my check engine light was on, but it probably was. At the same time I changed my fuel injectors doing kind of a shotgut aproach, but I think the GTM re-flash is what really solved the problem.
We also set the idle after the re-flash. There is another post on here about that.
One more thing... I needed my re-flash turned around right away. We overnighted my ECU to SAM, he re-flashed it and sent it back out via overnight delivery that same day. In my mind, that is GREEEAAATTT customer service.

well it only take a minute to flash. the fedex driver coulda waited for him to do it and take the package right back.
that why i dont understand why a non-custom flash is soo expensive. maybe someone can chime in and explain it. There's no time involved in setting the idle, removing the top speed, removing the throttle plate closing etc. still its 300$. It must just be the monopolistic reality, as if you want those things done, you dont really have any other alternatives, I guess.
but that is nice he did that for ya.

Before I went to GTM, I called technosquare. They told me the only guy that they had who could re-flash my ECU was on vacation, an that even after their re-flash I would get a check engine light.
I also spoke to Sharif, but he had just gotten his re-flash setup, and was not in a position to turn it around right away. Beleive me when I say that I would have sent it to Sharif in a heartbeat. I really like working with Forged Performance. Sharif, Ryan and Sandy are all really great people.
Nonetheless, Sam re-flashed it immediately and my idle problems went away. Also, I had no check engine lights after the re-flash.
The check engine light did come on yesterday when we eliminated the MAF housing, but that will be addressed within a day or so once we properly simulate the MAF output voltage and feed that into the ECU.

I had the same problem with idle....after the GTM reflash it fixed everything even fixed the Cel.
You are right in the middle....GTM to the west and Forged to the east can do it for you.
Luie is correct...its around $650 - $700...but if Luie will sell you his for $400......JUMP ON IT

So my question is this: If I get a reflash that eliminates the CEL, does it keep it from showing when you plug in to the OBD for emissions inspection? This would be worth the expense if that is the case.
I would be more definitive, except I am having my EVAP test show "INCOMPLETE" also for some reason (those CELs enabled) - still working on that... (Hal@IP and Jared@uprev helping - thanks guys)
That is a good question. It does prevent CELs so you can pass OBD scan BUT it also prevents SRT for that sensor from reading "COMPLETE". Check your state emissions regulations (online). Most allow newer cars to go through inspection even with one test "not ready". If you disable the correct CELs, you can get away with only the O2 sensor showing "not ready" and no CEL light, and you'll pass.
