Godspeed W/G
Anybody using a Godspeed 38mm wastegate? Just wanted to see if people had or have a any problems with them.
Also, Godspeed intercoolers. Any comments?
Thanks

Thanks, didn't know that they are crapy quality. I'll stick with Tial 38mm then. For some reason I keep thinking that I'v seen the Godspeed intercoolers in many nice builds, so I thought the W/G might be good as well.
Guess not.

An intercooler is basically a radiator for air. If it fails, whats the worst thats going to happen? - you lose boost, thats it.
If your wastegate fails, you are going to overboost and unless you have an EMS that will cut fuel, bye bye engine.
I can't imagine why you'd want to switch from a top quality part like Tial to a Godspeed anyway.

Yes, initially that was the plan. Now am have thrown the APS style setup in the mix as well. So I would say that I am on the fence as far as what setup I am going to run.
Both require a scavaenge pump, so that's another $250 thrown in to the mix. I have sourced everything and am currently buying things one at a time. I already have an inline fuel pump, UTEC with map sensor, and 400cc APS injectors with harness.
The piping will cost me about $200 with turbo flanges, so I am on par with my $3000.00 estimate. That does not include a clutch and tuning.
I am still trying to figure out some other stuff as I am new to the Z world. Things like check valves/vents to prevent crankcase boost, and routing a catch can. I am also looking at some GT3582R turbos that have water cooled centre housing, not sure if it is necessary to have the cooling routed as I am not planing to run high psi. I'll have to contact Garret on that because I have read some contradicting iformation here.

It also has PID-tunable closed loop boost control. EMS is another place I wouldn't cut corners if you absolutely don't have to... gl!
