2 questions:

1. Has anyone used the factory nav screen to display the CAMP2? If so, is the resolution sufficient?

2. Would it be possible to design a switch that chooses b/w the CAMP2 and the Nav so the factory nav remains functional when you need it?

Yes. Can't remember who here has one installed. I was going to do something like that too. But, I wanted video from both playing at the same time - one input from CAMP2 and another from a backup camera.

I'm looking for the module that will allow this (I thought it was a NavTV module, but I haven't found the right one). Does anyone have more info on this?

There are AUX inputs in my 07G from the factory making this easier, but the LCD display itself has direct composite inputs for both the AUX and for the factory back-up cam. I'm fairly sure the LCD has built in logic to switch to the back-up cam if it gets a signal, but I haven't had a chance to try it out yet.

If I am correct in my assumption, this would allow CAMP2 to be displayed with radio on, then switch to back-up cam if I throw it into reverse.

I would still need a separate speaker for the CAMP2 limit alarms.

Ok this is a quick question... I have the fcon vpro and I will be buying the adapter cable and the camp 2 is this designed to be plugged into the odb2 all the time... has anyone soldered it in so that it will free up the odb2 port for scan tools?

I am sure you could do that, but IMHO it is over kill. If you are running an Fcon, what would you need to check OBD2 via a scan tool for?

First off it would offer a cleaner install IMO and also give me access to clear codes / data log thru the cypher cable... Do you have any pics of your install example where the odbII hooks up?

Functionally, there is no reason to scan anything when you are running the Fcon. Anything of importance is controlled through the Fcon, and if the need ever did arise, it takes about .5 seconds to unhook the obd2 connection.

The obd2 hooks up under the dash. I don't even know it is there. I just don't see the need to splice the wires in when there is almost no need to scan via obd2 and to unhook the connection is so easy.

Just duped my post from last night from my camp2 thread....was wondering people's thoughts...

So basically I guess you can't switch maps w/ the camp2... its a little misleading on another HKS blog I ran across....

"As for the Camp 2 you cannot change any F-CON V Pro setting. It is for viewing only. Below is the extract:

F-CON mode

* The input value and/or the output value of each F-CON sensor can be monitored.
* F-CON S / SZ / SA / iS setting data can be monitored and edited when connected to CAMP2.
Unique settings can be made based on engine specification, such as exhaust type or intake type. (Data for F-CON V Pro cannot be edited.)
There are some items cannot be monitored depending on F-CON model and/or installed sensors.

I don't know of anyone successfully being able to do anything positive with the V-PRO unless you have the licence dongle to map it correctly. We will occasionally purchase one online to see if anyone has cracked it and they always are a waist of money. Best bet is to call Jim at Tunehouse in Sydney or Hanson in Perth for your tuning needs. Try www.hks.com.au..."

So does editing mean "map switching". I know sharif commented on XKR's build that it was not possible, just curious as to exactly why. Why does it even need to be plugged into the fcon then ?....I guess anyone w/ a flavor of the fcon thats not vpro is ok w/ the camp..teh sucks. I was looking at the navigator's connection to the fcon last night and they basically both plug into the same option port...so its either one or the other, -pretty lame hks functionallity
