Default Which of these Meth kits do you prefer?

Ok Im trying to decide which kit to get..If I were looking to maximize power id absolutely go with the aqaumist kit..however Im just looking for an added safety blanket. I don't really care about the extra hp it will give me...I want to make a number and then add the kit and tweek the tune slightly..so if the kit were the completely fail the car would still be fine.

from the limited experience I have with the kits, aquamist would be the only kit I would personally use. the others are like playschool toys in comparison IMHO

OK then, buy whichever you like..... I have used the less expensive kits and they are less money for a reason.

It won't be very "safe" if it stops working...

the term "safe" in regards to this application is basically an illusion. It is a gamble regardless of how good your parts are... if you don't care if it stops working; by don't care I mean you feel your tune is "safe" without it, why buy any kit at all? Especially if price is a concern.

Most kits have an option to detect a no flow condition. If that triggers a fail safe, such as preventing boost over wastegate pressure, then it should be fairly safe regardless of the kit used. One extra relay on the boost control solenoid is really the only extra part required. The Haltech is supposed to have its 32 in/out module coming out and that's the piece I'm waiting for so that the injection can be controlled directly from within the EMS using PWM (not just a trigger on/off).

Maybe I didnt put it clearly enough. The car will be tuned WITHOUT the meth..therefor it will obviously be fine without it..and then on top of that I plan on adding a small amout of meth to where I wont need to have it retuned...to further add protection..what is so hard to understand about that? I wasnt asking your opinion on my idea I was asking for opinions on kits...and if price was a concern I woulda went with a UTEC intead of haltech and saved over 1000.00 since they will both get me to where I want to be...

I also wanna thank you for the two educated opinions you've provided in this thread.

If your not tuning on meth, running meth will only make your a/f's richer. IMO its a waste at that point. If your only spraying small amounts, the cooling advantages will be slim to none.

It may not provide a sizeable horsepower gain, but it will cool the intake charge, it will run richer a/f ratios, it will cool EGTs, it will reduce combustion temperatures (with a W/M mix) - bottom line is that it will raise the detonation threshold. Definitely added safety and a good move, esp. on a stock block. I wouldn't recommend 100% meth. A w/m mix is the way to go if horsepower isn't the only goal.

Alberto is correct...if not tuned on Meth it will run rich which will rob you of power. FP had mine set to spray around 14psi..but for some reason it was spraying at 11psi which lowered my A/F from 11.9 to under 9...when this happened the car studdered....the problem was fixed. It is now going to be setup to spray at 16psi's
