Default built short block,T-trim,NOS project to start!

I am final going to pull the trigger on this project as long as iStan comes through with the spare REV-UP engine that one of the nissan dealership tech's here in vegas has sitting in his garage " oil burner engine " .
i will be pulling my stock unmolested engine out and keeping it in the corner of the garage and building the spare engine that should be comming soon. the plans for the engine build will be as follows

stock bore (as long as cylinder walls are in good shape)
arias forged pistons (stock 10.3:1 compression)
eagle rod's
ARP L19 head studs
ARP main studs
OEM main and rod bearings
cosworth stopper ring head gaskets
rear coolant bypass mod
stock heads, valves, and springs

upgrading s/c to V1 T-TRIM.

will be having custom serp pulleys machined for all engine accessories to accept 8 rib serp belt instead of the stock 6 rib. also upgrade the current 2.87 vortech pulley to a 8 rib. ( help reduce belt slip at higher RPM's ).

install nitrous system ( 100 shot ) when needed for those special occasions!!

upgrade U-TECH to stand alone ecu. have not decided which unit to go with yet!

now on cam's i am having a problem, everybody knows the rev-up's are limited in cam choices and i feel the JWT S7's are to aggresive for a S/C setup and i figured this engine will not make power past 6200 rpm anyway possibly due to belt slip. i will be running NOS on it though but not all the time. so i figured the stock rev-up cams will work well.

this engine will be run on 100 octane fuel only, with water injection.
i only burn 100 octane fuel with my current setup anyways!

i am shooting for 500 RWHP, 450 RWTQ without nitrous.
with the nitrous i am sure it will bump up the HP and TQ figures up considerably!!!!

comments and suggestions are welcome.

My brother hit 500whp on his T-Trim with the stock vortech belt setup with only a 28 tooth cog. He was a built short block with stock heads. You could deff do it, just get someone who can tune it well.

Good luck bud!!! I love my 8-rib setup and have no belt slip! Should allow you to rev as high as you want without issues!

You should be more than able to hit 450+whp with that setup on your car with 100 octane. I maxed out mine at 440whp where I started to become limited by the octane of my fuel.

Sam at GTM and i had a long talk about this a while back and he recommended that if i wanted to try and make a bit of power out of a built supercharged engine i should stay with the stock compression ratio. i really dont want to get into a long explination about why this is best but as i am sure you know the supercharger is limited in boost ability on a vq due to belt slip issues " T-trim probably 16 psi max with serp belt and limited slipping issues" it is not like a turbo application where waste gates can be readily adjusted to produce more power when the owner decides to upgrade and retune. Sam has delt with alot of supercharged applications at his shop and one of the biggest draw back's he see's in making big power on a s/c vq application is the lower compression ratio built engnes. a high compression built engine may give us a fighting chance! I already run 100 octane religiously on my current setup as a " saftey net" so i am use to that expense plus this car is not mt DD, it is just a toy. The Performance Factory sponsered drift ZR is running a stock rev-up engine, T-trim s/c ,the stock rev-up belt configuration with a u-tech on race fuel and they put down 500rwhp. i talked to the driver of the z and he informed me the engine is bone stock NO INTERNAL UPGRADES and they have been beating the snot out of it all season long and it appears to be holding up just fine so far. BTW i also plan on running water injection on top of the 100 octane fuel as well. i think another plus side to running the stock compression ratio is if down the road if i decide to de-modd and sell the car the engine will still perform well without FI installed.

You are right on, staying with stock compression or higher IMO... Speaking from exp.

Good idea! I've been wanting to do this for a long time. Who is making them for you?

Can you explain the benefits of an 8 rib set-up?? What are the advantages ?? How is performance effected??? Thanks!!

you understand we are talking about a vortech supercharger where the serp belt drives the jackshaft assembly, then drives the blower through the cog pulley's and cog belt. right? (wider belt=more surface area which = less slippage)

I talked to vortech and they recommended the V1 due to that unit is outfitted with the heavy duty race bearings. also i want the straight cut gears in the V1, I fancy that loud blower whine.

But why go so deep with a blower? YOu can get that kinda power with a turbo and be much more efficient about. It will negate the addition of NO2 bc you will already have lots of torque. No custom 1 off machine parts. No being without your car for 6 months again. And maybe athat tank of gas would last more than a weekend with the higher mpg from a turbo.

Just curious.
