Eagle rods power limits?
I'd argue it.
But my argument would be that the number of data points makes any observed difference statistically insignificant. Therefore no conclusion is possible, either for or against any aftermarket rod for the VQ35DE. All we can do is speculate based on rated specs, appearance and track record thus far.
I liked the weight of the Eagle rods (Carillo are even better as I recall but Pauter is heavy), the fact that QC is apparently performed here in the USA, and of course, the price.

Has anyone performed a metalurgical analysis comparing the structure of each of these rods? That would be interesting. We have a lad here in Oak Ridge that does this for my company. We have a hardness tester in house but the metalurgical analysis really breaks down the structure and the people in the lab can give their input also.

That is really one of the best ways to determine this. The grain structure and uniformity are KEY in determining a metals hardness, tensile strength, and how brittle it is. Everything else is mostly just speculation at this point
Any way the lad would/could volunteer his time for the analysis? If so, maybe we can get one sponsor of this site to contribute an Eagle rod, another sponsor to contribute a Pauter rod, and another to contribute a Carillo rod... Alternatively, I'd be willing to contact the respective manufacturers and request one sample of each.
I dont see them doing it for free, but IIRC we only pay like 100 $$ or so for the test. I will look into it.
