Default Eagle rods power limits?

Is anyone making close to 700hp with Eagle rods? There are a few discussions of Eagle vs xxxx rod, but I am curious as to who is actually making big power with them.

What issues happened past 600rwhp that you read about?

OP, I think Eagle rates the rods at like 200hp/rod or something like that. As far as the actual real world yield rate - who knows - because no one has broken them yet.

Again, I have yet to see a documented aftermarket rod failure on this forum minus the stoker kit that IP destroyed north of 1200rwhp.

I was just curious if anyone had them past 600-650 hp range on the forums. It used to be easy to look up builds, but so many people have built / rebuilt now it's hard to track what rods everyone has one what build.

Jason, i think you should be fine man! There was a thread on here comparing eagles vs. pauter (i think) and the eagles were actually thicker in certain areas. I am not sure about how strong or uniform the metal grain structure is, but i am sure they are more than capable of handling 700whp. To my knowledge these rods have been used in other car communities on numerous "high hp" builds.

You may as well go for it unless you want to be starring at my pretty evo tt all the time

They are rated by the manufacturer for 1500 hp for the VQ35DE.

us wondering if anyone has made real world power with them successfully. I know they are solid to 600, but I'm curious about beyond. I suppose i don't want to be the explorer lol.

Well for any rod out there, the number of data points beyond 600 whp is limited (on this platform), so you'll be "exploring" regardless. With no reported failures under 1000 whp for any aftermarket rod I don't really think this is an issue worth worrying about. Something else will give first.

Eagletangreen's engine that we did comes to mind. We kissed 700whp with that one, and he repeatedly TRIED to blow the motor up and she still survived..LOL.

But there are plenty of people in the 600-650whp range no issues. As others have mentioned, I have yet to see any rods failures in the sub 1000whp range, regardless of brands.

In the Supra world everyone dogs the eagle rods, imo primarily because they are inexpensive and not "baller" enough. I decided to give them a shot in my 2JZ SC300 build. After lots of driving and multiple seasons of running mid/low 9sec 1/4mile passes at ~1000hp they have never given me the first problem.

Of course that is a different application, but similar in my opinion. That is why I chose eagle rods to put in my personal street Z which may near the 1000hp mark as well.

I am using eagle rods and am in the 600-650 (dynojet) range as I am sure Sharif can concur.

I will be there today to pick that up if you guys are still there, lol.

I dont like the fact that they're built in China. I doubt they're built with the same standards as Pauter or Carillo.
