Default Turbonetics 5psi spring?

After much debate and months of thinking I believe I am going to be going with the turbonetics kit. I am not a new member I have been here a while so I have read so many of the turbonetics threads.

My Z is my DD so I dont want to run too much boost and don't want to run into reliability issues. I am wondering if there is a 5psi spring that I can run with the kit so it won't boost past that.

My Z has a stock block with 52k miles.. I really hope it can handle boost.. but like I said I don't really want to run much more than 5psi on my stock block because of how paranoid I am... and I drive my car pretty hard..

That being said, anyone have some input for me before I pull the trigger soon? I will be running the turbonetics reflash.

Anyone have any problems with boosting their car after 50k miles?
Is there a 5psi spring I can run with my turbonetics?

I am also thinking about buying a beater for like 1k because I know there will always be downtime and some kind of issues (hopefully nothing big).

Any insight will be great.

wouldnt that be less safe than a spring though? I am not sure if they even make a 5psi spring, so I guess if they don't this is an alternative.

just do a compression and leakdown. give ya health of the motor right away. Just run the stock wastegate spring. Thats what the turbonetic flash is setup for. It wont be more than ~350 hp anyhow. way safe.

Can you name some reputable shops that can do a compression and leakdown test for me? Estimates on how much that will cost?

Boost controller wont do jack when it comes to lowering boost.
There's a lot of people with 50K + mile Zs running boost, I wouldn't think much of it.
install the kit, if you're running anything aftermarket like exhaust, y pipe and so on, get a utec and get the car tuned! even if you're running a stock setup with the stock remapped ecu, I'd still dyno it and check out your A/F just to make sure its on the safe side.

There is a 5psi spring for the evolution wastegate, but I have no idea if its included with the actual 350z kit. If you buy a evolution w/g separately I know it comes with 3 springs; 5, 7 and 9spi.

Thats exactly what I was going to do. I am taking off my Bassani and running stock becuase thats what the flash is meant for. Ill make sure to bring it to a dyno after the flash to get the A/F numbers.

Now for the compression test to make sure I am good... anyone know of any nationwide known shops that do it for a good price?

definitely doable. I got the aps kit with external tial wastegates and got a 4lbs spring and hks evc6(overkill) and I got a 4,6,9 lbs setting. with bc off it runs 4lbs perfectly, thinks its a .3bar spring. don't know how running lower boost will affect the reflash however, u might run rich as hell and have jacked up timing, I got no idea how the reflash reacts(if it does) to different boost levels.
