APS TT, Greddy TT thoughts
quick question? Did u happen to have twins and swapped to a single or anyone on the boards for that matter? I'm all over the place as to which may fit my goals.. I personally want something that will spool up fast as opposed to higher up in the RPM range. thx in advance guys...
Since then, I went to Intense and became friends with the guys there. I started hanging out there on my days off and I learned a lot about the history of development in the Supra community, since Intense is a renowned Supra shop. Then Intense started dedicating their attention to the VQ platform. I witnessed firsthand the development and potential of the PowerLab single turbo kit, which changed my build plans forever.

For your power levels I'd talk to Sam into working some sort of Stage 1 deal.
Or get the JWT TT, smaller turbos, cheaper, if you upgrade and fuel you will hit around 500whp, after that those turbos run out of breath.
But very fast spool, a lot of low-mid end torque, a lot of fun.

negative HW....its a nice quality kit; but single kits are different than a twin turbo kit, you cant really compare. YEs garrett better turbos, but one thing you must have learned by now from reading the boards is NOT to underestimate the greddy kit even with the old turbos.
BTW the 1000 hp is that based on "math" from using the bigger ar on the gt30s?

No, I was NA and QuickSilver had the TN kit prior. I did a lot of research here on my350z and was heavily favoring the APS Extreme kit. At the time, GTM was the only shop over 800whp with a 4.2L fully built longblock combined with the APS Extreme kit. I made some inquiries with GTM and exchanged some PM's with both Sam and George.

Love the part selection and options on GTM's kit. I'd like to see someone use 2 different turbos with Sam's kit. I wish Sam would just try it for fun actually... GT25+GT30 =? pair GT28s

Due to flooding of roads that oftentimes happens here in Fla., anyone down here using the kit on a daily driver may want to move those air intakes a little higher (even though you lose the benefit of being able to suck in cool air through the bumber side vents).
If I were to choose twins, I'd go with GTM's kit. Seems to be the most complete for the $$$. Since I'm interested in boosting on the stock block with a mild tune as well, I figure you can't go wrong using this platform based on the evidence presented thus far

Not this time around. Perhaps in the future. I'd still like to do a stroker as a long term goal. I'd love to see a 4.2L stroker combined with the PowerLab kit. Maybe my next motor.
I found a fantastic deal on a fully built sleeved 3.5L longblock that had only dyno miles on it. Intense tore it down and inspected it. It was found to be in excellent condition.
So that is my current motor.

I've had both between my old Z and newer one (both 03's), APS spools the same as Greddy (from a driving perspective I could not tell a difference). Definitely get plenty more power per # w/ greddy - if you put the APS/greddy turbos side by side it's obvious lol, I'm now going back to greddy(20g) after I sold my aps tt kit. IMO greddy all the way.
I also had issues with boost not being stable with APS w/ the actuators (would spike up in higher gears and load and would make less boost in lower gears, where as greddy's EWG's were always consistent.

<----will destroy any APS car on the boards with pump gas and a kit that looks like a HS kid put it together
