Default Greddy Twin Turbo Goes On Sale!

It looks like they are taking orders for the Greddy kit. $4799.20 plus $125.00 to ship.

About the same price as ProCharger.

details, and what this kit includes, along with pricing, will be listed as soon as this kit is available
Hmm, looks like they're guessing at the pricing.

cbsuper,

Yeah, it's weird because you can add it to the cart and pay for it. I have checked this site in the past and they never posted a price until now. Maybe they know something.

Just got off the phone with Greddy. It is NOT available. He also said that there is no need to pull the motor for installation. There is enough room underneath the car to install (using a lift). Price will be 6-7K. Waiting.....

TheFuture

the greddy intercooler will be sold seperately. that's what greddy told me.

myG35zx

the 6-7k is the turbo kit plus the intercooler. that is what greddy told turbomagazine and motor trend when they wrote the article

now as we all know this could all change by the time the kit comes out

So why would I get this over the procharger? (sound of supercharger vs turbos not factoring in)

Greddy price on the TD05 16G for Z32 is 6454,55 so why should our kit be cheaper?
Off course that's Greddys retail and the online shops throw it cheaper

STi??? I guess 0-60 might be good but the STi loses a lot hp through its drive train. After 70mph the STi loses its grunt...

I agree that the sound of the Procharger has put me off a bit. That said, let's assume the price listed is for the GReddy w/o intercooler... so with intercooler around $6K-6.5K.... putting it approximately $1000 more than the Procharger. So why would you buy it instead of the Procharger...
  • Biggest reason... upgradeability. Sure you can do some boost stuff with the SC by changing pulleys, but if you plan down the road to do some serious internal upgrades and go crazy with the boost, the TT will be your better bet.
  • Customer Service... this one I think is very debateable now. In the past, GReddy has had a better service reputation than ATI. However, from what I have seen on this message board, I'm very impressed with ATI's involvement in the Z community. I think this one is a dead heat though GReddy is a company with a long positive track record.
  • Personally, I think the GReddy (from the prototype shots) looks more impressive.
  • The Procharger is too loud.
  • If you like the rush of a boost as opposed to the linear power curve of an SC, the TT is probably more for you.

For most, at $1000 difference, the ATI Procharger is probably the better bang for the buck since, in general, at similar boost levels they should produce similar power figures. I have a few more weeks until I have the funds for either system, so I'll wait and see what the GReddy kit ultimately entails.

I can easily see me wanting to upgrade the boost later and there's certaintly something more exotic about saying I have a "350Z-TT" over a "350Z-SC"

Isn't SkiDDazle (or however he spells it), getting something similar in his car? I know they had to take the motor out to do his, why would the Greddy be any different???

Mcduck, another consideration to make is that the nearest ATI installation center is in West End, NC which is around 2.5 hours from Charlotte. I called ATI today and they told me that Herbert performance is also a dealer/installer but I called them and the guy more or less told me I was crazy. He said they mainly only do headwork. That was in Cherryville NC which is about an hour from here. There are many authorized greddy dealers in Charlotte I believe though. This may not be a factor in your decision but I don't want to have to drive 2.5 hours if something goes wrong.

I checked on this today and Greddy hasen't released it yet. They said it would be more like October-November. I think that site is just getting ready and taking orders.
