yup they are close. The precision turbos that sp runs i think have a little more flow capacity in the end, but I'm not turning it up to 40psi to find out lol

It really makes no difference how much power he wants to make as a DD, because with a turbo that big he will just be lagging around town anyway. It will never get into boost.
Why on earth you would want a huge single turbo daily driver with 750rwhp or more is beyond me. That **** sounds fun now but when (if) you ever do it and you drive it I bet the cool factor wears off real quick when you realize you have the most unstreetable powerband ever.
But look at it this way, at least you'll have a cool dyno sheet to show people, right? Which I would have to suspect is the real reason you'd undertake such a project.

I've driven 600whp 35r 4cyl cars on the street and I didnt find them lagy at all, so I would assume another 1.5liters of displacement, thats like 40% bigger, for an other 150whp would probably leave you with a very similar if not better power band, no? Again this is if turbo sizing was correct for the application \, something like a BW S368 ET would get you there in a very un-laggy fashion!

37r's aren't considered laggy on this application and do over 700whp? But I guess everyone has a different idea of whats laggy and whats not...

Dont compare apples to oranges. If my 60-1 doesn't spool until ~3200rpm, what do you think a huge turbo like the one the OP is suggesting will do?
If you want as much power as the OP is looking for, and you want to daily drive it, you are crazy not to go with a TT setup.

Nothing wrong with a gt47 and it WILL spool. On a 3.5 you will probably see around 30psi by 6k. If your revving to 8k then it would be killer, but for 750hp it is absolutely asinine. If your dead set on a single get the Powerlabs kit or do an STS and swap the turbo out for a 40r.

IF I did a single it would be with one of the new 62mm billet wheel turbos that SP has. They are capable of about 600-650whp each.
Spool is decent with two on the shop car so imagine how it would be for 1.

Why have to run a small turbo at a high psi when you can take a bigger turbo and make the same power with less boost, and in turn less heat. Sure it will lag some more, but I would gladly take the 500+rpm in lag to not choke on a small turbo.

Well, it's one thing to say that you wouldn't choose a single 62mm turbo for your own setup. But to call it a joke is another thing all together. The Precision billet 62 puts out GT37R power (700whp) with GT35R-like spool. So are you implying that the turbo selection(s) for PowerLab kit are a joke???

Did he not mention 750whp? Can we not suggest better options to get there?? Is that not the point of a forum???Geez....I said 35r on a 4cyl car, we've ran a 72mm on a 1.9 liter before(10.50's in the quarter all day fwd.). turbo cfm/displacement ratio is one way to look at it....
I was just suggesting that a 750whp car can be totally streetable with an appropriate turbo for our v6..also 3200rpm is super quick spooling in my books,thats what I mean about different individuals dealing with different amounts of lag.
Lastly TT setups arnt necessarily more efficient, its actually quit the opposite, its more of a packaging thing...all things being equal(total cfm flow out the compressor and threw the exhaust ect..), the single SHOULD spool faster due to wheel to housing clearances(ie. efficiency goes up)..
now in a car like your with your long piping to the turbo you do loose alot of heat energy, and you have alot of area to fill since every thing pre turbo is considered "manifold" So hey you might even be right, on this application twins might even be more efficient! But thats cuz "all things are not equal" due to turbo placment, again going back to packaging.

Dont know what else to say....its a street car, its 700whp, its on e85(30% more exhaust mass helps with spool lol) its gone 10.50....spools on here and its good for over 850whp so it should spool on the Z, no?




This thing is sooo hairy, comes on soooooo strong that it usually spits ruber off the slicks on the dyno lol.
Also, the GT47 is very difficult to fit in the engine bay for a drag car let alone something you want to daily drive. I would recommend a GT42-76 for a daily driven engine.
sorry the track and prep photos have the bumper off, which I guess make it look unstreetable or maybe its the turbo placement?? But actually thats what every one wants to do here in the city, did you see my build thread I started here?? my turbo is in the front bumper in my Z.

Keep in mind everyone obviously has have some sort of low profile "hks mushroom" type filter for street driving lol
