Default 3.8L gt stoker kit and GT4788R?

I was thinking of buying a 3.8 stoker kit from gt motorsports and a gt47 turbo from Garrett i was just concerned about engine reliablity since this will be a daily driver. Or maybe getting a higher displacement kit?

What power are you looking for? We run a GT4788R on our Injected Performance 4.0L stroker motor with no trouble. We have also used a 4.15L. Lots of time has gone into getting this motor just right, let me know if you need any help on your journey.

47-88 is a bit overkill for 750 hp

you can do that on a 3.5l with medium twins or a medium single

Take this for what it's worth as I don't personally have experience with this kind of build on a Z, but many have had issues reliably making that kind of power, stroker or not. Probably best suited to a weekend car. Others with more experience can speak up, but 550ish seems to be a better number for a daily driver and still hold up.

Like I said, take that for what it's worth. Do your own research. Nothing is "bulletproof", even if it is advertised as such. 750 RWHP is an EXTREME amount of power. You're talking about at least a $30,000+ build for that kind of power and suspension/tires to even come remotely close to handling it and putting even the majority of it down to the road.

i think a more important question is when do you want that power.

Do you want to make 750rwhp on pump, or do you want a 500-550rwhp pump with 750rwhp on racegas?

a gt47 is def. an overkill for 750hp. and you would have to do a lot of custom work to even get it to fit. gl with that. you could just get a 67mm or 71mm for that kind of power. you could stick with the 3.5L. i believe SP made over a 1000hp on a 3.5L buts its also completely built, heads and all.

^ Even a 76S or GT42R would be a better choice. Of these two, the 76S takes less space and has already been successfully done on the PowerLab kit without clearance issues or having to sacrifice comforts like AC and power steering.

even a APS Extreme or one of SP's bigger twin kits would push 700s on a 3.5

In any event, the turbo setup is the easy part lol.
Built engine is a must. (you said you want a stroked motor already but thats your call).
Gotta decide on heads/cams if any (help though).
Clutch
Fuel system
EMS

Remember you are in an area that only about 25 people have gone too. Mine has 4K miles now, but most of the time you aren't making full power (you're just driving round).
So I'd talk to the tuners first and write up your goals and see what they recommend.

True. And of those two, I would recommend going with SP's TT kit. I was speaking in the context of a single turbo setup, since the OP mentioned using a single GT47R.

Both the 76S and GT42R are good for 1,000whp... more than enough for the OP's stated power goal. The Intense widebody G made 906whp on a 3.5L with a 76S. The 76S is also a popular turbo used in the Supra community for street driven Supra's running power levels in the neighborhood that the OP is talking about.

769rwhp on SP TT, stock sleeves here. Super docile during normal driving. Insane when you get on it.

lol @ using a turbo that can flow 1400hp worth of air for a 750whp daily driven 3.8L Z. brilliant.

That's a lot of power for a DD, I always thought between 500-550 was adequate for a DD.
