Waiting on the coolant reservoir pictures!

My PL kit didn't have the replacement reservoir, injector's, or instructions. I really hope that's all.. Would really be a bummer to be missing one of the baggies with clamps or bolts!

How is traction in the lower gears? Which gear are you running in the rear?

I have stock gearing in the car still. As far as traction. In first you'll get sideways easily once boost kicks in and 2nd you'll start to slide too. Once you kick into 3rd you'll start to straighten back out and it's all straight ahead from there.

I'm currently running Nitto Invo tires on the car and they seem to hook up pretty well once they are warmed up though. But it's real easy to get it sideways in the lower gears. I might look into getting a 3.3 later on but for now it's staying how it is.

This kit definatly gives you that Supra effect when the boost kicks in.

Here are couple pics of the replacement coolant tank mounted. The brackets they give you kinda don't go to anything so you have to pretty much make up how you want to place it.

All I can say is I'm blown away by the amount of goods you get for what you pay. Everything is good quality and all the piping is solid. As far as going from bolt ons to turbo it's night and day. The boost kicks in around 2800-2900rpms and after that you are flying. You can feel the car pulling all the way to redline like nothing. Before you know it you look down at the speedo and you are doing 130mph easily. What's really nice also is when you are driving normally it's like having a stock car. You stay under 3k rpms and the gas mileage is still really good. I'm running the utec in mine and so far have had no issues with hot start or cold start. I had 1 engine code but it was due to evap relocation kit for my exhaust. One of the tubes with a sensor to it was a lil off but I reset that and no codes yet.
OP congrats on your setup...car looks nice...
if i may suggest, a polished plenum and maybe the pl distribution block would clean up your engine bay a Lil more... looking at your headlights, i know you care about looks too

good luck with all !

Ya I'm going to be cleaning up the engine bay very soon. Xmas is right around the corner Gonna get the GF to pic me up some samco hoses and try and get my parents to get me a polished plenum. Also looking into get valve cover painted DB as well as the Battery/Brake covers. I'll probably be picking up that distribution block up in the next week or so to keep everything simple with all those lines.

turn your turbo to help with oil flow... yada yada yada, I had like 10 people tell me that.
its fine.

1. it still has a downward flow, it isn't working "up" any any point.
2. you CANNOT turn the damn turbo to make it point down, at least I've yet to see a way. if the oil lines point down, guess what? you hit the damn frame.
Looking at your pictures, it looks like you might have a little bit of room to turn it, but it will never be straight down, more like 7 or 8 o clock.

Also, while it sucks getting a smaller intercooler, at least you didn't have to cut your crash bar supports making for an easier install and less movement of parts.

Thanks for the heads up on the turbo clockin Jeffie. It does suck alil that I got a smaller intercooler then the original first batch like yours but it's still pretty decent size. Just need to find something that I can use to fix the fins on it and straighten some of them out since rocks and bugs seem to bend them alil.

Bigger is not always better, are you planing on making 1400HP? All that mattered to me is that when you look at my front bumper.

Nothing but I/C =)

As for the fins, you will always have that issue, bending them back can weaken the fins, if you want to, just get a flat head screw driver and do them one by one, I've had good luck, it just takes a good hand.

but but still pretty darn good size if you compare to jeffies

regardless even the smaller intercooler shoudl be enough for 800-900+, i think jeffies is good for like well over 1000+

If the smaller I/C fits the front bumper of my car, I wouldn't think twice about running that over the larger one. I had to move both horns as with the air bag sensor and the PS lines and the PS cooler and the... it was a PITA.

smaller one would have made life so much easier.

It's hard to see from the picture but my crash bar supports are cut past where the holes are. I only have 2 holes on each side for the crash bar.

I noticed that on your build thread. When I was getting ready to install the intercooler I was looking at that and going damn I gotta cut half the support? but when we put the intercooler up to it it cleared it barely. Then we realized that you had the bigger intercooler.

I knew something was up!! I test fit my intercooler and it cleared the two crash bar brackets.. should've seen me .. putting the IC down then looking at the mounts then lifting it to test it again then putting it back down scratching my head ......

And can anyone answer this question... I just want to double check but the air bag sensor is that little circuit board with the clip attached to it right underneath the hood release? The circuit board i'm talking about is the one on the center Intercooler mounting screw.

ya that should be it. Mine was like an Offwhite color. You have to relocate that over alil bit to get the intercooler to fit in it's spot.

Im loving the GT35r kit from all the pics and vids but im worried about not having a cat in the system?

In the uk im gonna need a cat to pass the MOT test has any one come up with a solution to this system not having any cat ??

Also I would be looking for no more than 350WHP would i be able to back the boost off to say around 5psi with out having any bad effect on the turbo/drivability ect.?

Thanks Guys.

You should be able to just run off the waste gate then if you are looking to stay around 350. The first pull we did while tuning was around 350ish-360. Think the Wastegate is set for 5 or 6 psi but not exactly sure. I have a manual boost controller set up on mine to increase the boost up to 9psi.

As far as adding a cat into this kit. You might have to check with an exhaust shop to see where exactly they can fit that in. I think UMW350 was trying to put a cat into his set up also but not sure if he was able to or not.

According to the PL manual I downloaded (may be an older version) the wastegate spring is set for .4 bar (7 PSI)

Ya that might be possible. If need be you could always change the spring to lower it if you really wanted to. Or use a boost controler to limit the amount of boost you want.
